  • juannabee - You complain"...Unfortunately, majority rules and our country has become far more lop-sided..."

Yeah, it's called democracy, something you don't seem to like. Come to think of it with the exception of your own opinion of your(imaginary)self, you don't seem to like anything.

bailey. - Don't try to squirm off the hook. You're the one who made the unilateral no other claim..
".. the future is where rational combinations become the norm such as those with anti-PD-1 inhibitors + Reolysin because of our OV's cytotoxic and immunotherapeutic effects, which results in the immune system to identify and attack the cancer after Reolysin has assisted both the checkpoint inhibitors and the innate immune system.
This is a capability that no other oncolytic virus is capable of performing."

There are at least two other oncolytic viruses (cocksackie virus; modified vaccina virus) on trial with the same CI (pembro) as reo. And you should know that. And there is evidence that other oncolytic viruses like NDV evoke both innate and adaptive immune responses in the host. With the exception of HSV derivatives we may be farther along than other OVs. But there are others.

bailey. - "...This is a capability that no other oncolytic virus is capable of performing."

What? Where do you get that from? Please cite your studies that show no other OV has those properties.

bailer - I appreciate the trouble you went to to provide support for what I posted about the difficult 30/31 congressional seat bar the demos would have to clear. I'm surprised you didn't know that before I posted and you googled wasserman et al. I'm anxious to withdraw from this thread because you know how adamant I am about avoiding political debates. There are others here, less high-minded, happy to tussle in the intellectual mud of ideology with you.

  • d2foxes d2foxes Apr 25, 2016 2:05 PM Flag

bailey - Two points: Both sides know control of the senate may be up for grabs and are planning accordingly, but your suggestion that the GOP will lose more than 30 congressional seats (after the draconian gerrymandering they've done) is a stretch.

"Koch's influence will see that she makes that change." might better read Koch's affluence will see that she makes that change.

  • d2foxes d2foxes Apr 25, 2016 11:44 AM Flag

bailey - You might want to consider Koch's surprising statement as coming from a man who is used to "buying" politicians and who sees in Trump someone he can't easily control. And sees HRC, OTOH, as someone who is just fine with the business-as-usual, money talks govt we are burdened with. I believe the Koch kabal has also indicated they intend to funnel their freedom of $peech briberies into congressional races to make sure if a democrat is president he/she will be neutralized by legislative blockade.

speedy - Al Bore was never president. I don't know how you impeach a private citizen. The CEI is on record as acknowledging global warming AND that human activity likely contributes to it. Something I agree with but many on your side of the windowbars err, fence, absolutely deny. An unusual position for them to take when so very much of their funding comes from texaco, amoco, phillip morris, exxonmobil and the koch oil barons. Their belief that "free market environmentalism" is the best way to have clean air isn't working out too well in Beijing. As to your HRC comment - shouldn't the last word be him?

  • d2foxes d2foxes Apr 24, 2016 9:33 PM Flag

speedy - I am no fan of HRC. But the accusations of murders, the claim she will disarm americans and imprison those with whom she disagrees is the kind of lunatic nonsense I expect from the imates of the glen beck, alex rose asylums. I am sorry to see you associate yourself with that craziness.

Maybe they think ronnie paid the Iranians ransom to free the hostages in $10 bills.

dennygrate - Tubman was a strong, admirable woman. If I believed her accomplishments were the reason she is being elevated to currency status I would have little or no problem with it. I don't think that's why. My issue is that it's just one of hundreds even thousands of decisions where political correctness is the gold standard and everything else - notably merit - is secondary or tertiary. The PC crowd is proudly putting the alsorans in charge of the asylum and our country is and has been going down the tubes because of it.

I have absolutely no problem with the best person not being white or male or northern (whatta stupid comment that was) or whatever minority or sub category. My peroblem is when the best person is passed over because he/she IS white or male or northern or whatever rather than some minority or sub category. Your failure to understand that is not a lack of intelligence. It's the self imposed ignorance of ideology.

mink, mink, mink - The panic that the 1st, 2nd and 4th amendment will be gone is baseless fearmongering. The court cannot rewrite the constitution. (Although the current SCOTUS has effectively trashed the 4th.). If the current republican party dies it will be because of cancerous elements within have torn it apart with a narrow destructive agenda. Maybe a healthy GOP will be reborn as a result.

Big money, WallSt, the Kochs, oil co's are every bit as guilty of voting themselves money from the treasury as are the welfare crowd. And more successful at it.

No doubt the longknives in republican backrooms will try to wrest the nomination from Herr Hair. But they may not succeed. And Raphael Cruz will do a lot more damage to this country than DT. Consider also most of the people who say they'll vote for Hillary will do so holding their nose. Add to that the HUUGE number of Sanders supporters who are true believers and who may just not vote in Nov. The picture is less clear than many think.

rivet - I read you description of me and realize how shallow and bigoted I am. Thhe only problem with it is it's a totally bogus construct fabricated by you to have something you can declare yourself superior to. I exercise no white male northern values only filter. I have no problem with a black lesbian being a supreme court judge or even president - IF - she is the most qualified for the job. I have an enormous problem with her being justice or the president if she is simply the most qualified black lesbian for the job. That's the PC idiocy. You don't seem to know the difference.

No rivet, I speak for myself and assume anyone with a modicum of intelligence who is even modestly aware can see the corrosive damage pc lunacy has done to our country/society by supplanting excellence as a goal with "diversity" and social "correctness". It has put the weakest principle of democracy - i.e. The search for the lowest common denominator - on steroids. e.g. the demand to have a woman on the $20 bill.

casiturn - The fact that many trials have some very long survivors may play a role. Because it could take 2 or3 or more times as long to evaluate experimental therapy if you had to wait for final OS numbers. With the attendant additional middle phase expense before moving on to an pivotal trial.

    rivet. - "
"Studies of brain damage: If 10 percent of the brain is normally used, then damage to these areas should not impair performance. Instead, there is almost no area of the brain that can be damaged without loss of abilities. Even slight damage to small areas of the brain can have profound effects."

You seem to imply that the trauma example that damage to an area of the brain is an irreversible loss of abilities. Yet those of us who have known frontal lobotomy patients have seen them (at least many of them) gradually return from a post op vegetative state to normal functioning. Strongly suggesting the existence of "reserve" capacity mediating the recovery of abilities.

ladies & gentlemen of the jury. - I don't know which is more preposterous: a self deluded poster who - each time he responds to a post he pretends he never read - give you some twobit nonsense about he knew the subject matter he didn't read. OR how someone who his whole life avoided the harsh competition of the marketplace, pursuing the certain job security of a enlisted man's military career and the dole of the state dept defines himself as one of the competitors who worked their way to the top and denigrates others for their assumed lack of effort.

And, in an effort at enlightenment, new words evolve or are coined all the time. Shakespeare coined dozens, technology has given us a bushel like "cyberspace" and "texting" and "selfies". There has never been a finite, inviolable number of words in the language. But you'll never know that because you never read these posts. Ha!

denny - Is it bigotry to say black males are better basketball players than white males? Or that asian students are better at math and science than caucasians? If either statement makes you uncomfortable because you are a part of the inferior group, then yes, I'd say there's bigotry involved.
