I got a letter from Richard Osborne. One of his complaints (he seems to have an axe to grind) was that the management switched from monthly to quarterly dividends without informing the shareholders. If that really happened, he has a legitimate beef. The old offer from Algonquin of $13 a share looks nice right about now.

    Is today ex-div?

Payment for 3 tranches showed up in my Scottrade account this morning. Taxes were withheld on 2 of the 3 payments. Amounts were very low, probably due to the exchange rate.

Next pay date is 12/26 according to Citibank. Weak BRL is not helping the yield.

    Still No Dividend?

    Hi bi11,

I elected to receive "optional" dividends at Scottrade as shares instead of cash, specifically for this stock to beat the Spanish taxes. Unfortunately I hold this in an IRA and a Roth, so there's no foreign credit at tax time for those accounts. I believe shares were the default issue for this dividend, and Scottrade also gave me the option to change my selection, although I missed that window. The last date to choose was 11/24.

The transactions now show in my account with no tax, and a $0.025 a share ADR fee (I think Citibank takes this cut for the ADR). The transactions are confusing, so I will call my broker today. It looks like there is one transaction for a cash dividend at .41596 a share, then another negative transaction buying 2.87% of my holding shares at $14.6941 per share. Thankfully no partials, but still confusing.

I see the dividend shares in my Scottrade account, but the transaction is not there yet. Still hoping to beat the Spanish dividend tax, should know tomorrow.

Citibank ADR site says payment date 12/17. I hope I can take the stock option so there's no Spanish tax withholding.

It was ex-date for the ordinary, but not sure about the ADR. The real question is, when will this get paid for the ADR? There are 5 different tranches of payments announced since August, but I've yet to see a pay date.
