Your bigger mistake was not selling all. Your bigger bigger mistake was buying in search of a big dividend then holding as it tanked day after day. Then you finally sold at bottom. Buy high, sell low?
No way will MTW reverse its fortunes. Neither ice making machines nor cranes have much potential. Share price performance is atrocious due to earnings that continue to slide. The yield is insignificant. Why would anyone buy into this failing company? They can't spin off one of the business units because there are no serious buyers. They try but no one wants these ponies. I closed MTW position at 29.33 and dodged a 38.4% capital loss. The writing was on the wall 2 years ago.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Then you got hurt even worse. PLOW shareholders have proven to have weak hands. They don't buy into weakness, they sell. This compounds the losses. The hope is they buy into strength and compound the up days.
yep, more players about. nonetheless, i have been impressed by the size of the crowd at Wendy's. IMO, their product is at the top of the food chain and they are Best in Class for "fast food". i see a very diverse clientele in age, race and gender. teens, oldsters in for group lunches, moms with the kids. have been so impressed i opened a small position in WEN. the yield is modest but i anticipate capital gains as i expect quarterly earnings to improve YOY. the same sure can't be said for MCD. their putrid food is beginning to catch up to them and i bet WEN picks up market share. with lower gasoline prices, and increased disposable income for consumers, i am betting WEN continues to improve both revenue and the bottom line.
IMO Long Term Sentiment = Buy
have been tracking EXC for a few months and observe it to continually outperform market in general and appears to outperform majority of utilities. i pulled the trigger at 36.44 PPS. good yield. protected dividends. will play this on the Long side.
makes sense other than, if buyers are looking to increase holdings, i wouldn't expect them to lay off. i would expect them to buy more. mayhaps they did just that and countered the overall market selloff.
i opened a modest position yesterday. was very pleased to see FLY remain immune from market pounding today.
sure would have liked to see other positions fare as well. stock portfolio down 2.13% today.
obama? seems to me that the Congress is Repub and that Obama is simply playing out the lame duck term. unless you want to blame the falling gasoline prices on him... No? He was blamed when they were high. oh, you want to blame the falling US economy on him? oh, i guess that didn't happen. uh, what can you pin on him?
i don't like UNamericans. you support terrorism? i support the USA and our president.
Well, well. Ms. Piggy is back with her rhetoric. Who you going to attack today? BP again?
You just can't find happiness nor fulfillment and have to go about with your slander and hate. How pititful.
M. Koss and a director are purchasing shares on a steady basis since 11-05. in a sense, this is similar to a share buyback program but the difference is CEO is conducting personal buying - not company purchases. my guess? Koss looking to pick up as many shares as possible and increase ownership percentage, possibly to take KOSS private or sellout. either way this is a play.
i got in with 5000 shares to test the waters. don't expect KOSS shareprice to be driven up by earnings but rather by manipulation (legal). and going along for the ride at 1.75 PPS.
all that being said, i would now rate Long-Term Sentiment a Strong Buy on pure speculation.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
You will have to ask hgl1269. Seems he has all the answers. (kidding)
A nice little rebound today. Hopefully it will be sustained. I like to think, at the end of the day, good financial metrics will eventually prevail. Keep the faith.
- Now down another 1.43% on a record day in the markets for all time high on S&P and DJI. Sure looks to me like something is wrong and I see a lot of competitors out there. You don't? I think you are the liar and a pumper. You are now on my ignore list.
- I read some of his posts and some of yours. He has credibility and you have none. I am holding Generac but am wondering if that is a good move.
- Let's hope for better days.
Couple things to temper your enthusiasm:
There was a boost to earnings of $0.10 due to an insurance payment (showed up in equity earnings because it was from a joint venture)
Management said interest expense will trend toward ~4% from todays ~3% due to purchase accounting adjustments
Management said that this quarter was a bit light in SG&A expense
I think we're looking at about $1.25 in normalized earnings, but of course lots of great growth on the horizon until we hear otherwise.
