I have to add that PBY's is ridiculous on their tire pricing. I recently bought a set of 4 tires. I bought top of the line Michelin which Sam's, Costco and PBY's all carry. Costco just happened to have $70 off as well on a set of Michelin. Sam's and Costco were both cheaper per tire than PBY's even before the $70 off. The real kicker is Sam's and Costco both charge just $15 per tire for installation and road hazard. Costco actually inflates with Nitrogen. That's $60 at each place for installation and road hazard warranty. Do you want to know how ridiculous PBY's is? They charge $107.96 for just installation and you have to pay another $62.80 if you want the road hazard. I saved over $200 buying the same exact set of tires at Costco that I could have bought at PBY's. Before you slam me, go online and check it out. No wonder these guys can't get sales. DaninFW

They are back to giving away service again and destroying margins. Just got my 20% off any service job by e-mail yesterday.

    time to hire a ceo

You are really making this complicated. It's real simple. Look at their track record. Look at their BOD's. Unless they added someone recently they have nobody with service or auto parts experience on the BOD's. Take the time to look at ORLY, AZO and AAP before you look stupid again. You have more faith than I do......even though I have been right on PBY's for almost 20 years now. The postings are still there amigo. That's a fact. I don't know about having talent but I did have over 20,000 employees during my career. I was responsible for 100 or so auto parts stores and service centers for about 15 years so yea I don't know anything important.

Look at the Market Plus tweet and study the chart he posted. He's an MBA from MIT that says if EVC closes above $6.42 on more than 527,900 shares that it will fill the gap to $7.11.......he posted this yesterday. I found it very interesting.........tomorrow will be very interesting. DaninFW

Unless they bring aboard a recognized leader with a proven track record as CEO this stock is going no where. It might actually drop if they don't. They have hired nothing but rejects from failing companies in the past as CEO. Watch and learn. They have no internal talent like the companies you mentioned. The culture at PBY has not grown any one capable of the task. DaninFW

We now have two analysts followed by Yahoo for USCR. They both show revenues going up about 17% in 2015. They also showed EPS at $1.52 just 30 days ago, $1.83 just 7 days ago and in past day or so raised EPS estimates to $2.35 for 2015..........USCR should easily break $38-40 in 2015. I also look for a major acquisition that will propel them to a billion dollar company in 2015. DaninFW

That was my take as well. Of their 4 main markets, Texas is really the only one impacted by drilling. However, they don't deal directly with the energy sector. There is more new housing editions going up around me in Fort Worth area than you can shake a stick at. They have just recently added facilities in energy areas like West Texas. I see marginal negative impact at worst case scenario. I think way oversold. Something had to come up in Q&A. I thought the same. Was hoping someone reading these messages attended. DaninFW

Joe, I just have a feeling something good is coming out of this presentation. I think the Piolin deal may be a real winner. Spectrum should get brought up at the Noble meeting since they projected $9 for EVC. They don't want egg on their face so I suspect a great dog and pony show. DaninFW

I'm going out on a limb but I think we will see $7 or scare the hell out of it by next Wednesday. We are moving up very nicely today just on below average volume. I honestly think we will spike more before the end of the day. Market is closed Monday and presentation is 30 minutes before market closes on Tuesday. We should move up Tuesday and really pop Wednesday. JMVHO. It may be shorts trying to cover today on below average volume. Just imagine when there's a buying rush. DaninFW

I think GTN and NXST are also strong takeover candidates, especially GTN. Both will either continue to acquire and enhance synergies or be acquired. GTN is the best managed company in the sector with about $140 million in political next year. I really bought GTN for a quick 40-50 cent pop. You know my philosophy I believe I have preached for years. I would rather make 50 cents 6-8 times rather than wait for a $3-4 pop. DaninFW

Here's something that came out today. I speak Spanish so I will translate:
It basically says the channel is being added to Dallas station on 1-19-15. Looks like more and more are signing up......and more profit for EVC.

Last conference call they gave the final political number. $9 million if memory serves. Let's hope they give upward guidance to Q1. I expect very little specifics on spectrum but perhaps a lot of questions. Looks like EVC only broadcaster invited. DaninFW

$1 downside and $3-5 upside. However, I will probably just trade for 40-50 cents. I think GTN and NXST are takeover stocks as well. DaninFW

I honestly hope you are right for the sake of the employees and stakeholders. The fact they don't care about retail is scary. That's their main problem. Their stores are from the Jurassic era and need to be sized down with the right retail mix and more hard parts. DaninFW

And that is the problem. They need to hire "THE" CEO not "A" CEO. I am also afraid they already have one......the current acting CEO and I use the term "ACTING" very freely. I suspect he's the keeper. DaninFW

    My Thoughts

    by daninfw04 Jan 15, 2015 10:07 AM

EVC will continue to be very volatile. Any positive catalyst as thinly traded as EVC is at present will rocket stock. Today we have had a big seller that dumped about 50,000 shares at the open in small blocks of around 5,000-7,000 shares that took it down. It appears he has more to sell today. Technicals mean little or nothing IMVHO to EVC. DaninFW

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • daninfw04 by daninfw04 Jan 15, 2015 10:07 AM Flag

Yesterday I was asked why I thought EVC would get bought out in next 30-60 days. It is JMVHO and gut.
    1) EVC has not been acting like the rest of the sector.
    2) When EVC made a new 52 week high the rest of the sector was down 20-30%.
    3) Has continued to show strength even with market crashing and 2 downgrades that hammered it.
    4) Univision has decided to do an IPO around mid to late 2015 and many eyes will be watching EVC as a result. Univision will be doing many roadshows to promote their IPO.
    5) Spectrum.......worth many times current stock price and enterprise value.
    6) An offer IMVHO will be made before EVC skyrockets.
    7) The recent SEC filings for changes in by-laws is almost done anytime BOD's are aware of unusual activity.
    8) I believe Univision wants to cash out of their 10% ownership of EVC to improve their balance sheet before IPO. They may well be peddling their block.
    9) Management owns millions of shares and may well make a lowball offer just to steal company or to put in play.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
