Outpissed made a statement that I should respond to truth's inaccurate statements. I feel I already have but I will tackle the first 5 or 6 here:
    1) EVC has even more debt than they did during the darkest days when its was well below $1
Totally inaccurate. SEC filings show Total Liabilities for EVC on 12-31-10 of $480,453,000 which have dropped to $394,876,000 as of 6-30-14. They have paid debt down almost $86 million in last 3.5 years. Lies again.
    2) The future of old world "broadcast" & radio becomes dimmer every day
Yes, viewership is down for all broadcasters but still much coveted audience and advertisers willing to pay more to get them. Advertising revenues for EVC have gone from $200,476,000 to $223,916,000 from 2010 to 2013. A big increase and does not include retrans growth.
    3) EVC interest expense is set to start increasing once again (contractually)
Current interest rates stay at 3.5% for next 16+ months till 12-31-15. At that time only $186 million in debt affected and rate goes to 5.23% so in 2016 EVC will see annual debt increase cost of $3,218,000. Small amount considering they were paying 8.75% in 2010 on much bigger debt load. Cash flow has also increased astronomically since 2010. You will love that number.
    4) Analyst want EVC to extend Univision contract and EVC can not
EVC has the upper hand. Listen to conference call. Telemundo is gaining ground on Univision while EVC has #1 and #2 news in almost all markets. Univision needs EVC to attract viewers to their programming. SBGI, GTN, LIN, MEG, etc. etc. have gone over contract periods while negotiating. EVC has years before contracts are up. Almost all current broadcasters are up years before Univision deal with EVC expires.
    5) EVC has wasted money on more bad acquisitions
I and the analysts may agree on this one
    6) EVC still can not be bought (univision veto)
Univision may well find a buyer of their shares so they can do IPO or get bought out.

Boy, you are using all your aliases today. I have already responded point by point more times than I can remember. I also didn't say it couldn't go down. I see $4+/- as I stated a few days ago as bottom. You say $1.....we will see who is right. DaninFW

You are still saying EVC will now be $1 a share. Do you really think the people on this board are that stupid?Just because you sold last time at $7 while pumping the stock and telling everyone to buy, buy, buy and that it was going to $12-14???? I hope I saved some people from buying your shares at $7 because I was telling everyone it was not worth more than $7-8. Facts are facts. Anyone can go back and see that I am right. You are suck a con artist. DaninFW

So does that mean I deserve to keep the $300,000+ profit I've made trading EVC because of the same debt? Interesting how none of your aliases has ever denied my allegations. Must be something legal to it if you were to lie and say it's not really you lying.monger. What fun this is. DaninFW

Of course I am aware of debt levels at EVC, refi, and so on........just further evidence that you are another alias for lying.monger......at least four and counting. Debt levels at EVC are the reason SBGI, LIN, GTN, NXST, MEG etc. are all down 5-7% today....right? What an idiot you are. DaninFW

I'll be on sabbatical starting tomorrow. Sector hit hard today because of Congressional Committee proposal from Rockefeller and Thune not favorable to broadcasters. You can google. 3 of 4 analysts that follow EVC have lowered expect. Waiting for 4th to hit. On the positive front, State of New Jersey Pension Fund disclosed today they took a new position in EVC of 2,100,000 shares for $9.5 million. Not as much fun watching it go down. GLTA DaninFW

I just finished my averaging down. I will either give up all may past gains trading EVC which was several hundred thousand dollars profit or take a big bath. Holding 220,000 EVC shares at present. 120,000 at $5.791, 60,000 at $4.75 average, 20,000 at $4.60 and 20,000 at $4.47. I am now going to play the same game as lying.monger and one of his aliases......outpissed. I am going to quit posting unless major, major news comes out........and will return when EVC takes a nice bounce upwards whether a day, week or month. I'll play his game and post when I am only right. Should be fun. GLTA. DaninFW

To me I look at percent not dollars. I see EVC for instance going from $4.70 to $7.05 in next 6-12 months perhaps much faster That's 50% return. GTN is one of the best run in the sector. But, GTN would have to go from $12 to $18 for that same return. Could happen but not IMVHO in next 6-12 months. I think GTN is very fairly priced at $15 so that's 25%. Not bad. EVC only has to go to less than $5.90 for the same return. When GTN was $10 it was a steal. EVC was within 20 cents of that just a few days ago. With EVC you are betting on assets, spectrum and cash flow not management. With GTN you are betting on all. EVC might be $10 now if they had competent and aggressive management. EVC is focusing their future growth on what is less than 5% of their current business. That's nuts. They are growing the other 95% organically. It makes no sense for EVC not to be adding on stations that would be accretive to cash flow. To invest $15 million in Pulpo they better be cash flow positive in 2015. The additional $3 million hit to operating expenses in both Q3 and Q4 scared the hell out of the analysts. Good to hear from you. DaninFW

I would add that I have probably posted a dozen or so trades on EVC and been right on 100% of them. The current price of $4.70 may not be as cheap as it will get. Market direction may well dictate much of that in the future. I still think we will see $7+/- by year end. We may hit $4 first. I don't think so because most of the dumping seemed to be over yesterday. Monday may well be telling. LT investors may see it as the time to buy more. The "official" 52 week low is $4.27 but was just a few thousand shares traded below $4.76 which the market maker stole. I said before that I think it was a keying error and was $4.72 not $4.27 as it was only about 1,500 shares. You don't drop 49 cents on 1500 shares. IMVHO the real 52 week low is now $4.58 and we need to stay above it. Setting new 52 week lows will not be good short term. DaninFW

I want to say a few things. Nobody and I mean nobody should ever buy or sell a stock based solely on one opinion. They should research a stock for months if not years before they ever invest. One thing about the internet is you can take the time and go back and check almost anybody out. I have been posting over 15 years and have been right probably 90%+ of the time. The record speaks for itself but don't believe it because I said it. There are doom and gloomers that for 3-5 years have been saying the market is going to crash 30-50%. They have been wrong 3-5 years and have cost investors 15-20% annual returns if you believed them. Now, one day and perhaps soon they will be finally right and everyone will congratulate them for being so smart. Everyone always remembers the current call not the past calls. If you think I am right 100% of the time just ask my wife. She will straighten you out real quick. Warren Buffett is not always right but look at what he's done. I remember two of his worst investments because I bought one of them (TXU Bonds) which he lost $2 BILLION dollars on. I didn't buy Pier One which he lost hundreds of millions on as well.
When I say my track record I mean on everything I've posted on....SBGI(below $1), GTN below $2, BLC below $4, RAD below $1, just to mention a few not counting dozens that have been bought out like BZ which I recommended at 62 cents and it got bought out for about $10. I've had my misses like DPTR and XIDE.
As for lying.monger, he was only right about how EVC would do after the Q2 report. He was wrong about the Q1 report where it jumped afterwards. He also sold at $7 while telling everyone to hold for $10-12. How can that be right? He also says it will be $1 in just a few months. He posted almost nothing while EVC went up over $1.50 a share. He works for a fund or company that pays him to bash EVC. I have said this for several months and he has never once denied it. Check it out. He also has 2-3 aliases. GLTA

Just FYI but with a just a few analysts already lowered expect, EVC is now projected 8.9% growth in revenues versus 13.1% a few days ago. EPS expect average already down from 13 to 11 cents in Q3. We are now set up to beat revenues since they are currently tracking flat to last years $57.79 million in Q3. Expect now is $62.91 million. Add in the $6-7 million from September political and you would get $63.79 to $64.79 million. We have no idea what Pulpo Media will add but it has to be at least a few million. However, the danger I suspect analysts are worried about is will they sacrifice local revenue for political revenue in September like they did during World Cup since they apparently don't know how to run this business. Just a few thoughts on both sides of the equation. DaninFW

He's a real piece of work with at least 2-3 aliases. I have challenged him before as I believe he works for someone and is paid to hype this stock. He also said before that he kept part of his position. Now, he claims he sold everything. A year or so ago I challenged him constantly saying EVC was only worth $7-8 at best case scenario when he was spouting $12-14......I think I have been right on that more than once. His main arguments now are the same ones I made on why it is only worth $7-8. The latest big dump is because analysts have lost all confidence with management. This is a great trading stock for that reason. They will always disappoint when you least expect it and when analysts give up on the company they will surprise to the upside. EVC is almost identical in that regard to PBY which I have traded for 19-20 years. I am wrong short term on my latest call because I bet that they would beat the already reduced expect of analysts. Now, the analysts are going to lower expect so much they can't help to blow it away next time. A steal below $5 a share IMVHO and 2%+ dividend while you wait. I could care less about daily gyrations in this stock Yes, I am a trade but not day trader. I usually hold positions for months as you well know. I rarely if ever capture capital gains. DaninFW

  • Wow---- hate to correct you on telling lying.monger that he is 1 for 1. Far from it. He is the one that told everyone to buy EvC and that it was going to $12-$14......and now he admits that he was selling at $7 while pumping. After he dumped he tried to scare everyone into selling saying it would be $1 in about 6 months. I have already proven that he has at least two aliases. I also suspect that contra_guy is another one. He just posted for the first time since May and always attacks me. Don't let this scam artist fool you. Daninfw
