Short fries today!!!!!!!!!!!!
And if the divi is raised then what? I love the smell of shorts frying in the market!
Also between 3 and 3:30 this is when the market normally sells down, a good time to buy unless the market is in bear market. Price some times recovers in last half hour if nothing wrong with stock.
It seems as if they are trying to hold $24. If you really want shares I would buy, I bought at $24 but my order was in at $23.98. I've seen this before where new shares were issued but they kept a limit as to how low it would go.
Just my guess but they will sell all the shares issued into the market and this will keep pressure on the price till the shares are sold. I think this breaks 24 and that is about where I would be buying. GLTA
Looks like the shorts are dredging up old posts, they must be starting to get scared.
You must be getting desperate having risked big money and having little to show!!
Misspelled WHIP
Dogs that are wiped have a tendency to turn around and bite the one wiping them!
I think that they should have enough cash to do both. After all they do have money coming in all the time from the mortgages being paid down and instead of buying overpriced new mortgages they could buy their own stock. I see a concerted effort to drive down this stock. Those who are doing this have sold in the neighborhood of about $50 million dollars worth of stock. I would sure like to see their short attempt blow up and force them to cover at a loss.
Buying below book is accretive to book value and increases book value.
I-would suggest that all investors call IR at 301 968-9300 and ask if they are buying shares and if they are to announce it so that we could buy and set a bottom here.
I would venture to guess that AGNC will start buying or has been buying here due to their still having much of the $500 million that they authorized for buy backs below book value. Up to now the shorts have been in control dumping at least a million shares in hopes they can crush this stock, so far they have not. My only wish is that AGNC would come out and say they are buying so the longs could pull in behind them and crush the short sellers.
One million shares were dumped at open and these fools started showing up. Too bad the SEC does not do their job and stop this sort of stuff. I imagine they are hoping to drive the stock down to panic the weak hands. The one thing that is in the longs favor is that sooner or later the shorts have to cover.
What another short attack? The more you try to push down the more the buyers will come in. Cover your shorts as we do not want to see you naked!
Hi Yank. I have traded AGNC almost since it was started. I think that the divi if cut will be cut to $1.10 at most. Management of not only AGNC but WMC have said that the drop in value was caused by the perception that the fed would be raising rates, and that some of the loss in value has been already recovered. If I remember correctly on the call they said that they were also putting hedges to protect against this type of problem. So they may still be able to maintain their divi. I sold AGNC when it was over $33 and bought in to soon in the upper 30's. But to limit risk, I am still bullish, I bought calls at the 28 and 30 levels for June since even if the divi is cut to where I think it will be or even to $1 I still think that stock is worth at least $32. Also if you look at the chart the stock has started to go back up again. AGNC and MTGE are both tradable if you follow their charts. You should be able to go in and out about twice each quarter. Hope you are doing well. Good luck.
You really should call yourself the joker.
I am not speaking of just WIN but all stocks in general. Unless these shorts' only position is on WIN, which means that they are very small and will fold like a cheap suit if pushed hard enough.
Good comments. It seems as though those who short stock have been so beaten up that anything that they can latch on to that might make some money is what they are trying pile onto. That said I see those shorting as making a short term buying opportunity and for those who now buy a possible short squeeze if enough people realize the value there is here. GLTA
If they are that vulnerable then anything will make them sell and the same effect as a negative article. There are many good posters on SA while the Motley Fool is more for those shorting. If you do not like reading them then just ignore them! I have found over the years many articles that have helped me to discover undervalued stocks that I have made a lot of money on. Just like those who cry about those shorting a stock, but look how happy they are when there is a short squeeze. I would never short a stock since your loss is unlimited, but your gain is limited.
