I agree and bought in AH at $15.54 as I have been watching this company for a strong breakout and I trade on strength and ignore all the rhetoric.

If history is any indication then you can count on the price of PSEC heading south as that has always happened when the insiders purchase stock. I call this pump and dump

Thanks for you detailed analysis on the spins. However, if your scenario is right then greed has really overcome good scamming as I would have thought that the first spin would be something undervalued to whet the appetites of shareholders so that the glove could drop later. I am out of this POS with only 13 shares to keep in touch with the results of deja vu as PSEC is not the first to manage their company like this. Just imagine if the trading price gets cut by another few dollars the yield will be over 20%. Wow for those just tuning in.

I have owned T and VZ for years but had more weight in T until January when I made T overweight. As soon as I did VZ started to kick my butt and I thought that I had made a big mistake. However, the recent earnings, probable green light on the DirectTV merger and T getting its act together have made me a happy man.

    Management fees

The % that management receives is not the metric that gives cause to owning this stock but rather the conflict that can develop between increasing assets under management quickly versus being selective with a resultant lower ramp of the curve that represents assets owned. PSEC in my opinion is motivated by the fees and not the quality and now they would like to jettison some lower quality to shareholders to ultimately increase their fees and burden us with their poor acquisitions. Please don't ask me to sell my shares as I have already sold all but 13 so that I can watch this show.

I have owned BX for several months and heard Cramer mention BXMT. I looked at the chart and saw the breakout from flat line a pattern that I have always wanted to jump on so I did.

I am down to my last 2800 shares and don't wish to own any until the fog lifts....if ever......As I have said before this scenario has already played out and the result was not good. Deja Vu all over again with PSEC being the new player.

Shares selling below book are indicative of the lack of faith that investors have in these shares and future prospects only dampen that thinking.

  • I have owned PSEC for too many years (sold half last year) and watched the erosion of shareholder value and the wealth building of management at our expense and yet there are still bulls on this MB. PSEC is following in the footsteps of CWH because absolute power breeds absolute corruption and greed is the basis for corruption IMO. PSEC management will spin off businesses to generate income to buy questionable businesses so that they can received more fees and lower dividends based on the 'spin off'. I am going to shed some more of this as it has been so painful watching these arrogant managers snub us. When you want to step on the pulpit to defend this company than create an argument that has cost us more than 50% in value in the last two and half years while the market in general has soured to new highs.

I have mentioned AMPH on this board before. Well they report on March 24th and I am speculating that whichever direction they move the needle will drive MNKD the same way. AMPH has been making one new high after another and is now consolidating a little in anticipation of results.......Mark your calendars and see if I am correct on this

I posted sometime ago about AMPH and the fact that they were the equivalent of shovel sellers during the gold rush who made millions and I was derided by this esteemed MB. Well let me point out that AMPH is at a new high and seems to be exonerating my prediction. I wish that I had bought more than 2k shares of it and left MNKD to itself.

The best way to trade MNKD is as a day trader. The stock swings at least $.2 each session and the shorts provide a nice cushion if you get caught with shares in your hand at the close. Nothing is going to happen to this stock from here until fundamental news is forthcoming so why not make a couple of hundred each day while we wait.

Let me ask a question to some who have studied the same case. Doesn't CWH that now calls itself CQC seem like the twin of PSEC. Their basic objective was to finance and buy so that they could generate fat fees for themselves. Additionally, they issued Secondary Stock Offerings to fund their greedy fee appetite constantly diluting shareholder values. They repeatedly decreased the dividend using a good excuse. Eventually they were overthrown by a company call CORVEX that seems to be following in their footsteps. Currently CQC pays no dividend. I am thinking that PSEC is using the 'Spin Off' idea to generate money so that they can continue their love for fees and their ambivalence for shareholders. I own PSEC now although I jettisoned half of my holdings some time ago.

    PSEC the magical stock............

    by slicktop4 Mar 9, 2015 11:40 AM
    datanurd1 datanurd1 Mar 10, 2015 4:05 AM Flag

I have been reviewing the history of CommonWealth Reit now renamed Equity Commonwealth after being taken over by another company. EQC operated similarly to PSEC by paying themselves exorbitant fees based on the size of their deals. The incentive was not to find quality deals but just deals so that management could be paid. Additionally, EQC would issue secondary shares frequently to fund these deals and the net effect of all of this was reduced cash and more shares outstading to the shareholders. The company has now eliminated its common dividend altogether as they continue to line their pockets. I feel we are on the verge of having the same thing happen with PSEC and the spin scam will be designed to raise more money for managments pockets while shedding lousy investment businesses.

I have to agree with your comments as every ambulance chaser will pile into this story. I am short now and looking for when to exit. Today's action is so lame and LL will be down tomorrow as so many longs (especially those on margin) have been hammered at this point. The stock is broken for the moment.
