Trying to buy back some trading shares under 21.00

    by davebugs Jul 16, 2014 10:07 PM
davebugs davebugs Jul 19, 2014 9:23 AM Flag

Got them - I believe on the market dip due to the plane being blown out of the sky - I was out all day. I believe I got them at 20.86 I'd heve t look, certainly not the low but for these trading shares that's just fine.

Closed the week at 21.32 on above average volume on a general market up/recovery day.

  • Just missed getting them today.

Hard to tell what this sleepy little stock will do from time to time now with an activist involved.

But I plan to trade half of my position a litlte at a time like I usually do. Including buying back some trading shares I recently sold.

Good luck folks, assuming anyone out there actually pays attention to this MB.

Remember to do all or nothing or the fills are bizarre, I've had them fill almost entirely with 1 and 2 share transactions. Which reminds me I need to change my order...

When I ge ttime fo rtome DD - thanks.

I recently sold all my COV rather than wait on the deal.

Bought some ATHN as a spec.

Only have a wee little drug exposure with JNJ and TEVA and about to sell the TEVA.

A few little spec guys mostly from this MB I believe. Not my area of expertise at all. So I appreciate the mention so I can hopefully get to some DD.

I've had similar things happen to me - although not with CREE.

One of the reasons is the infamous "dark pools". The same reason TDAmeritrade doesn't often show my bid or ask for common or options. Especially on the smallcaps I trade often. If you call - you get a runaround that says that basically "not all bids/asks are shown on level2"

Well, bought those calls back today for .50.

Less commissions that's 50% return in 10 days?

KLIC is back in no mans land fo rme for a while here jsut shy of 14.

I hear you - I'm trying to buy back the calls I wrote but the premium is stubborn - it doesn't wanna come out.

And I'm too stubborn to buy them back with less than a 50% profit.

I'm almost thinking this may be another personality of the tinfoil hat fella with a thing for cheerleaders based on the 2 posts I've seen so far.

Claims to be an expert - check!
Has nothing positive to say about CREE - check!
Claims to be objective - check!
Yet - for some reason has multiple postings on the CREE MB - check!

If it's not him, they must be setting next to him...

I initiated a position here today as well with profits from COV since that deal was announced.

Now I have to get more serious about doing my DD!

And I did sell my COV for 92.25 over 100% return since the spinoff.

Don't have much in medical, a litlte JNJ left, little DVA, , little PFE, little TEVA, little NXTM, ATHN seems like a battlefield and the CEO is refreshing. But I haven't looked at the business or his track record. But ATHN may be where that COV money starts to go.

My total medical related is only 4% of my portfolio.

So any suggestions in medical, drugs, devices, medical IT, etc. Usually it's closer to 10% but I've sold to remove all costs form most of these holdings (except TEVA). I have no expertise in the area. Don't like MYL's management so that's out (I live somewhat close). Some companies I used to own were taken over like BRL.

Well, it didn't get high enough to sell some common, but if I had and now KLIC is almost a buck lower I might be buying those shares back.

The premiums are still kinda high IMO. The ones I wrote for 1.00 are .65/.75 when they are half what I wrote them for is usually my target to buy them back.

    Time will tell...

    Good luck folks.

  • I see no news here at Yahoo, I'm heading for brokerage accounts to look.

o.k. mid morning JUIL 25 calls 2,300 traded and there had been 595.

Still don't see what may have caused that trade (or unwind) but I'll go looking...

Sold OCT 15's for a buck instead.

Closed at b/a .85/.90 if I can buy them back at half price that's what I usually do.

If KLIC continues to run I'll likely sell some trading lots or write more calls.

Gonna try and write some JAN 16's for close to a buck.

Gotta be off line for a while. Heck that's more than another 10% for 7 months on some of my shares (overall my current holdings average according to TDAmeritrades simply math 64.33%) but I do lot tracking and have booked major gains already.

I'm betting that I'll get to buy them back lower. Infact if they don't go I may consider writing the 15's. I prefer not to write in JAN but sometimes you jsu tgotta take what the market will give you.

  • COV - I'll likely sell all of mine before Medtronic purchase.

KLIC - lookin gat writing JUL 15's (On up to 1/4) of my holdings) or just selling some shares.

Next ER isn't until after JUL expiration. JAN is too far out for me to write (with the January effect and all).

INTC broke 30 today, I may lighten up more there as well.

This market still seems outta gas to me, and it is summer also. I see no compelling reason to not take some money off the table, and thus little reason to buy.

    Good luck folks!

    I am not a shorter.

But when CREE gets frothy I sell calls against most of my remaining position.

The past several qtr's the thing to do has been to take profits or write calls when CREE starts running because they have missed and guided lower every time. Now they CAN execute rewards for themselves very well and mgmt entrench themselves more and more..

Still outstanding technology - still ahead of the pack for now as LED's commoditize.

I have likely over 50 CREE bulbs now and very happy. Competitors that I have tried are all dead or reduced output.

  • Had been trading it around 20(buying below 20, selling 22 or so) a lot in 2010, 2011, 2012, then from low to mid 20's in 2013.

I just think it's ahead of itself even with last nights announcement.

And if KLIC has a nice bounce I'll likely be writing some calls again (currenlty I have no options on KLIC) rather than sell some more lots - atleast that's my current thinking.

Remember chips often don't do much all summer uniil the hype of the next holiday season starts and folks start buying everything chip related in the fall. Often I buy now then sell to these folks who arrive in the fall.

    Good luck folks!

    Hello - anyone out there?

    by davebugs Jun 2, 2014 11:40 AM
davebugs davebugs Jun 12, 2014 8:46 PM Flag

I did sell a few on 6/9 for 22.25 that took several chunks to complete.

The MM's sure are greedy with this stock.

I've had orders where it was almost all 1 and 2 share lots. I try and remember to do all or none but sometimes I forget.

If it falls a buck or so I'll buy these shares back, if it doesn't fall back, well, I've still got significant shares.

Good luck folks...assuming anyone is out there.

Your local utility is subsidizing one of the 60w and not the other, same thing happens here near Pittsburgh.
