We recently sold our paid off house and bought a smaller one for less. We could have paid cash, but decided to take the 4% mortgage for now. Otherwise no debts. Our last few years we gave up some income opportunities to be caring for elderly parents at home. So now our income in retirement more than our last few years of work. That is the 'advantage' of lower income. It is easier to replace in retirement. (lol)
Lou. My wife will be retiring in a few months and we will begin the 'distribution' phase. A good portion in preferred, bought at good price and yielding 7%+. No pensions for us means that Social Security is our main taxable base. With good tax planning, we will be in the 15% bracket and have tax free 'long term dividends. Non qualified mostly in out IRA's. Locked in some profits by selling and will keep enough cash for a couple of years. Will be OK even if there are multiple Death Spirals
We can all have different opinions, but we SHOULD agree that what is posted on this board will NEVER cause the price to rise or fall.
Its hard to figure what motivates someone to make hundreds of nonsense negative posts about one company. At lest spammers have some purpose, and they post on multiple boards. ????
Thanks. I guess you DO serve some purpose. You post these fun misfacts and it gives us laughs. So anyway what percent of the sub prime malls are you expecting to see close due to higher gasoline prices?
Sorry, I am using company info. I forgot you say they just make that up. What figure do you come up with?
One stock I own is ARLP. also having a tremendous run up. great earnings, stock split the other day. When its pre split price hit 96, some were posting that price should be 120 soon. Maybe. But I said its ripe for a pullback for same reason as HRB. It pulled back about 10%. I continue to hold ARLP for income. They raise their payout EVERY quarter, so I am not in it for cap gains. If HRB would raise their dividend that would be positive. But again I look for a pullback soon and would not want to wait for another dollar or two more of potential upside.
True who can predict those things. My thinking when I want to sell for a profit is if I am happy with that profit, I don't care if it goes up another 10% AFTER I sell. HRB is at its ALLTIME high. Everyone who owns it is ahead. Knowing the seasonal nature of the stock, I would not expect it to be going much higher in the next six months. All things being equal, which is not always the case.Who knows there could be a buyout offer?
The Donk hates debt. He said this about O..'They are piling on billions of debt because they are desperate to keep this Ponzi Game going'. Seadrills debt is about double that of O
well actually no.
The Federal Reserve on Wednesday expressed confidence the U.S. economic recovery was on track and hinted at a SLIGHTY more aggressive pace of interest rate increases starting next year.
