I plead ignorance on that. what are the rules on being short and a ticker symbol change? My instinct says there is no ramifications. You are saying something else. Ticker symbol changes tomorrow. I am in 10K shares under $7.50 and I am already up over $1000. Hickman is making me rich.
long 10K shares. Just waiting for the lowlife shorts to cover. The stock goes ex-dividend 5/16. I wish they would have pushed that out till end of month to give the shorts a longer time frame to think about that
what took so long though? I suggested the same thing 15 months ago. Maybe they should spin out the taxi portfolio to a newco and just have the bank.
they spent over $100M on a gas service company, providing water, and now it is losing money. If I want oil exposure, I'll buy an oil co, keep this pure water and water service.
Now that I've sold I am looking at this with a critical eye. May buy a competitor instead
about time they changed that stupid ticker. Seriously, what were they waiting for?
All the gloom and doom did not happen. Some write downs but still managed 28c and a 25c dividend. All the earnings are from the bank now.
Austin voted for fingerprinting. costs $40/check. Uber is unwilling to pay so they are out. If taxi drivers have to go through fingerprinting, then so should uber drivers.
just a month ago I said the funding would be at 50c and was derided for saying that. Now it is looking more and more like 50c minus 20% for the funders or 40c. Insiders then convert at 30c. So that essentially adds 50M shares to the current approx. 20M. Existing shareholders wind up with about 30% of the "new" company. That is not terrible considering the dire straights the company is in. I have seen companies in this predicament have existing shareholders wind up with 10% or less.
The only doubts I have is why someone would put in new money when the insiders automatically get a 25% discount to that new money. Death spirals are nasty and really limit the company
we are within 1.5% of $20. My prediction was spot on. I may let some go that I bought right before earnings should it breach $20. I am willing to hold and wait for $25 in a few months if the quarter continues as it has so far
they have cash on hand of almost $5B and are selling their Dow Corning venture for $4.8B. That deal closes next month. So the cash on hand and the $4.8B puts them at about $10B already. The other $10B can be generated over 5 years. Their operating cash flow in the last 12 months alone was almost $3B.
So all they are really doing over the next 5 years is returning the cash on hand and reinvesting the cash they make over that time. The resulting company will have much smaller share count, a higher dividend, and hopefully a higher share price. This is one of my larger holdings right now.
what could they possibly say at earnings to make it fun? Gee, our revenues are down, cash is almost out, please buy our stock?
