Thank you chumps for selling me your shares at a discount. Its always knee jerk to assume a stock offering will be dilutive. However they are doing it to partially finance the $550 Million in acquisitions, which will be accretive. thanks again.

  • Hercules Offshore Inc. (NASDAQ: HERO) was reiterated as a buy this week at Deutsche Bank. While Gulf of Mexico drilling activity is muted, signs of life, especially after hurricane season ends in November, look encouraging. The Deutsche Bank price target for the stock is a monster $6. Shares ended the week at $2.39.

Lets be honest. they have 36 Jackups of which 8 are cold stacked and 5 are ready stacked. they have one of the oldest fleets out there. Eventually they may write down their fleet like Ensco did this past quarter although they wrote down only floaters. the point I am making is that Market cap being so far below Book Value may not be a meaningful indicator.

Now I know why the stock has crashed. The only positive change in the fleet report was Hercules 261 that recommenced 8/9/14 through 9/30 so its a tiny thing. Mike is right. It is bleak.

Actually it was 589,319 shares which vests over a 3 yr period. its the 126,848 total shares given to 8 directors that's annoying. they are also each getting a $50K retainer, a total of $55K in annual fees, and $2K for each board meeting they attend. Not bad considering its all fluff.

  • Noble spun off their standard spec offshore drilling business Paragon (PGN) on Monday. they have 34 jackups and 8 floaters but they would appear the closest to Hero at least with old jackups. The spinoff price is $11.78 and its already down 19% this week to $9.54. But they are much better than Hero; they will pay a dividend expected to be $1.00 and they are already trading way below BV. I own some shares of HERO but its clear they are hated. It goes down every day regardless of market conditions and they pay no dividend. I see no reason to buy more shares.

  • He ripped into the entire offshore driller industry cutting ESV, DO, and RIG to sell and NE to hold. One of their ONLY remaining BUY RATINGS is HERO. lol

As such, they downgraded Ensco International (ESV), Transocean (RIG), and Diamond Offshore (DO) to Sell, and believe that the latter two will be forced to cut their dividends. Urban and his team also cut Noble Corp. (NE) to Hold, although they still view it as the best ‘legacy’ name. Their only Buy rating in the space are Ocean Rig (ORIG), Pacific Drilling (PACD) and Hercules International (HERO

Paragon shares were distributed yesterday to my Brokerage account at Schwab dated as of 8/4. Noble WI shares closed at $27.40. Paragon WI Shares closed at $11.78.

  • I looked at the current 10Q because this stock was recommended by Leon Cooperman at a CNBC conference. Can someone explain to me how they can buy more properties with $2.5 Billion of Debt, no equity and only $41 million of cash on the balance sheet. Also this is a REIT so over 90% of the Funds From Operations have to be distributed in dividends. How the hell will the debt holders ever get paid back their principal? I see their projected AFFO for 2014 is $303 Million. That's nice cash flow but annualized dividends in 2014 are about $233 million. So what am I missing here?

He is an idiot but I think the short sellers could direct this stock down another dollar easily. Huge short interest again today per FINRA.

  • There is no such thing as negative news built into this stock. The shorts always force the price lower when there is bad news, even modest news. This company may be fine in a year or so but only if they change management. No reason why Rynd should be around anymore. This was a $40 stock 6 years ago. By the way Diamond Cutter on the other board is out.
