I think both AAPL and CHL want to make a deal, because they both need it.
They both are loosing market share in China and this deal will help them both.
The question is, when?
I am not sure about the September 10th event .

Unfortunately, AAPL takes another hit.
Unfortunately, you are mistaken. The SEC Form 8-K filing was done on Friday Feb 8th 2013. Here is a portion of it from EDGAR Online:
Form 8-K for GOOGLE INC.
Item 8.01. Other Events.
Commencement of Sales under Rule 10b5-1 Trading Plan On November 15, 2012, Eric E. Schmidt, Google's Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, adopted a stock trading plan in accordance with the guidelines specified in Rule 10b5-1 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, and Google's Policy Against Insider Trading. In February 2013, sales of Eric's Google stock may commence under this trading plan.
"Nov. filing for the sale of 41 % of GOOG"
Please note: this was "planned", not "filed" in November.
The filing was done on Friday, so before Friday it was not public information.
If you are suggesting that "the big investment groups" should have had known about this plan,... well.. legally they couldn't.
Illigally?...every thing is possible..
The first line of defense is around the 20 day moving average @ $750, then 50 day moving average $725-735 in 2 weeks.
One more point:
In November GOOG's share price trading range was $650-$700.
Assuming "price" of the stock was one of the deciding factor for the "time" and more importantly the "size" of his plan, Eric Schmidt will front load the sale of his GOOG stocks to capture the 10 percent higher market price.
If he liked it to sell at $700 in November, he would love it to sell at $780 now.
They say it was "plannned" (I could not find any announcement) in November.
If you have found any published "announcement", please provide a link to the board, thanks.
and if the market starts to correct, it could test the 200 day moving average in a month.
remember, 'black boxes" are "front-runners", each time a sell order enters the system they pile up on sell orders, and vice versa.
stock markets generally do not recover on fridays.
markets are currently over-bought.
goog will close around $770 tomorrow, i think.
