Daily volume is FLAT. Looks like it has been run-over by my afore mentioned steamroll

Not to worry, Joe is giving yet another speech in Europe AND the $165,000.00 S-Class Coupe has arrived for sale in the US...that one should sell by the dozens!

Pretty funny. It fits like it came from Al's Big&Tall.
Ah, and now you are going to feel the wrath of said "upper clowns". You are destined to receive 12 or more "thumbs down" ratings from these "upper clowns".
You see, the truth sometimes hurts their sensitive feelings.
There is only room in the world of the upper clown for pure orthodoxy, you have to be a fanatic, an extremist, a radical, a terrorist--kill them all and let Allah sort them out. The is no room for thinking or discourse, sorry All, you are a heathen and a heritic. You are, dare I say, the moral equivalent to Monty!
Boys, Back up the truck! Get the shovels ready to spread this load out today

  • The last two weeks it has looked like stock holders have been "backing up the truck"

As the price per share keeps dropping and dropping it seems to get harder and harder to to buy shares....said no one ever....except Lester.

Lester is nothing but cheap tricks.
He wants to imply great volume and demand for SPD, by way of saying Hitachi has 4.3 million sq.ft. of capacity---but he knows that the actual volume is not even half of 100,000 sq ft.
When caught in his misrepresentation...Lester ignores the catch and moves to another half truth to squeeze out of trouble about royalties in a wide range of $150-250. He has a problem, as the price of the SPD and the developed products comes down with volume SO DOES HIS ROYALTY AMOUNT in absolute dollars per unit.
Even with the most optimistic take rates on the S Class, at 40% he might see REFR get another $6MM in revenue. He forgets that even with another $6MM on the top line that will not bring REFR to will maybe bring it close to break-even. If the take rate on the S Class disappoints Lester and the Cheerleaders they have another BIG loss in 2015. If the unit royalties drop with the unit cost of the finished goods the loss could be nearly identical to the last couple of years. THERE IS NO ROSY FUTURE FOR REFR.
Lastly, we keep hearing how LC and LCD are "slower than SPD" .....well that is a bunch of baloney about stuff you cannot see. The EC, LC & LCD change time is less than 100 milleseconds--almost too fast to distinguish a difference with SPD by the naked eye--which is all the consumer has. So lets give up that charade starting right now.

So, Lester, are you saying that Hitachi "PRODUCED" 4.3 MILLION Sq. Ft. last year? And so REFR received a 50 cent per square foot royalty on that (based on the barely $2MM in top line revenue).
Or is the reality that no where near 4.3 MM Sq. FT. were produced? Based on Mercedes take rate on the SL and SLK isn't it closer to about 80,000 Sq.Ft. annually?
Maybe the 4.3 is a "potential annual capacity" which means nothing unless it is ordered and sold.

Glad you like it. LOL But you get sarcasm...not everyone here does.
Thank you for the answer, that's pretty clever!

So are the rules DOT federal or are they state by state? In either case full opacity does not likely seem acceptable. If they are state by state then there is a moving target. You brought it up, if you don't know that is okay too.
I am not casting aspersions on Mercedes understanding of regulations.
I am curious if side window are a real opportunity or just another wine cooler idea. Your crabby answer tells me its a wine cooler door or another ThermoView. Thanks.

I only got 14 negative and Threespeech, "the grump" gets 17 negatives
I guess I am more a more favored son than Three is to Lester.
    Consistency pays.

On a just slightly more serious note; a couple of you folks have brought up the notion of SPD in the side
windows (specifically on the E Class). Any concern there on a regulatory basis? I have heard that in some states there are rules about the darkness of tint films.

You got 10, count them, TEN negatives.
Lester did not appreciate your sarcasm.

Have to hand it to the Bard, he called him out, but only got 5 negatives.

you keep making it sound like REFR has a "slam dunk" with no worries about profits vs. losses.
When I take just a cursory look at REFR revenues and SG&A over the last three years here is what
    I see:
1)SG&A is up 25% since the introduction on the SLK. How much more will it go up this year?
2)Revenues on a full year basis are up about $1.3 MM comparing a full year before the SLK to a full
year with the SL and SLK. So the Mercedes deal has really only added about $1.3 MM/year to the top line (and when we look at this on sequential quarters the top line revenue numbers keep declining)
    3) Losses are UP about $2MM since the introduction of the SLK .
    4) Losses last year were almost $6MM (on $2MM of Revenues) so you need 40,000 MSC roofs on the S Class this year (with none of the inevitable drop in volume on the SL and SLK) at $150.00 each to hit a BREAK EVEN
(assuming you don't get further increases in SG&A). Not sure about you, but I don't know if I believe there will be 40,000 MSC roofs on the S Class in 2015.

So there looks to me to be just a few "complications" in route to earning a profit.

All of this doesn't include any conversation about the iron fisted control that Joe has imposed on the
Company. Or whether Joe is looking out only for Joe or if Joe is honest and is willing to pass any earnings, if they should ever occur, on to the stockholders.

Shorts may be far less "stuck" than you think. You may not understand who is really "stuck".

    Ah Hem.
Price dropped from $4.85 since this morning to $4.67
But Lester, that is an interesting theory that they "Don't have much time" and anyone is sweating that there is a hurry to your stock continues to drop like a rock in a pond.
The problem is simple....your management team scares the heck out of everyone...that might go long.

Interesting theory...that the stock will rise as float diminishes.
So, as I write the last trade was at $4.85
The chart looks like the stock has done nothing but go down for the last week and a half.

I am wondering how Joe and Bob are going to "skim" the cream off before it turns in to profits that the rest of you true believers get to share. Really I am wondering what is going to go wrong here.
