Hey jeb, so what. HIMX was a nano-cap, penny stock when I first bought it at about $0.96/sh. I sold all my shares about 16 mo later-outstanding profit. I specialize in these stocks. I now do hold a few 100 shares of HIMX I bought later just because they are an amazing co. Maybe the example u gave is a good way to play the market. I worry a little after a huge one day gain if there is much left after that. I wonder if u bought in seeing this. We all know the next day after a tremendous one day gain the stock typically drops back half that gain. Kinda risky.
Neither of these stocks have a history of moving up or down in price very much: therefore, there doesn't seem to be much money could be made with them. Better get yourself some FSI. U are better off getting some FSI!
Oh, what's the matter? Someone didn't like my post? I must be on the bandwagon at all times for HIMX or I'm a dirty rotten scoundrel.
And, the volume today is just unbelievable! Too bad I just can't come up with anything else to buy. My other picks of possibilities a while back just didn't make the grade. Someone suggested CVGI lately, but I think I'll stay away from that too.
I really like people like u with your one word comments. It makes it look like u know what you're really talking about. Incredible volume today! Its so much at first look I thought it must be a typo.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Its not a binary situation. There are many ways people can be informed about products and services they might find interest in. I had in mind a great big catalog or many specialty catalogs published by the gov't or an appointed body. Capitalism pushes way to much consumerism: Promoting consumption and producing ever increasing waste is not compatible with what's good for the environment. U sound like some low level individuals I've run into in the past who can only spout the way things already exist with an 8th grade mentality. Their mental ability doesn't tell them that what they are saying any 8th grader or 6th grader has already figured out. They think they're the only ones who have figured some things out.
I'll answer this by asking why doesn't this bother u? My bank and my broker collected personal information about me. I see no way to get around this, however. This could be to my benefit: What if something happened to their computer and almost all data was lost leaving me little evidence linking me to my account?
There is so much more at issue here. U might have seen my rants on this board against capitalism. Its not working for any society; it should be replaced with the co-op system which has thrived for many years in numerous examples. Socialism is an abject failure because it tries to reward those who add nothing of value the same as those who do. I see no reason for FB to be collecting data on people to begin with and FB shows a contempt for the public by asking them to sign in just to see what's on the site. This is a further insult for them to be collecting data from the Oculus devices. As these things become in more use we should see a backlash on this IMO. Many people can't see beyond the myopic view: They think this is only about privacy. There's a bigger picture here. FB started out and became very popular with no way to make money until Zuckerberg started selling ads and collecting data on people. One can only imagine how many millions of wasted hours are spent nationwide in the pursuit of selling products to people. To me nothing seems to be a more wasteful use of time. We don't need people marketing things to us! All we need is a sort of catalog describing what things are available with their features. I pay absolutely no attention to ads and they'll probably turn me off. This is a silly waste of time.
Two years ago I thought I might try to compete with FB by offering a subscription model for maybe $6/yr. I would mimic all the features on FB...hehe. Unless he has some copyrights on them. And, a pledge NO ads....ever! I just don't have the ambition or the computer knowledge (at present) to do this. Access to some good programmers also.
I, myself, take environmental issues very seriously. I'm a little squeamish about putting anything in water. I have to think part of their thinking was that not only are they responsible for the people of Vegas, but they could get a million visitors a day from all over and most of them from Calif. Even if the stuff cannot be harmful in any way if some learned about this it could be a big problem. Back in about 2000 the Calif dept of fish and wildlife put poison in a lake up near Euba City to kill all of the fish because they said the wrong kind of fish got in the lake. This bothered me some, but it looks like there was no other choice. Like I said, someday push is going come to shove and someone somewhere is going to want a lot of this.
I poured some kerosene in my water tank once believing it would discourage mosquitoes. My reasoning was that the kerosene stays only on the surface and where water is drawn out from is well below the surface. I would think their inlet would be well below the surface and the water they use would never be in contact with this stuff.
Interesting u know Nanochem is a subsidiary of FSI, but u try going directly to that website. Yes, I agree that's bad webpage management to leave that up. I would say these products ought to be easily found on FSI's website. I've looked at their site 2 or 3 times before and believe I've seen a good description of them and where they are sold.
Well, I have a bit of a problem with that attitude. Its like saying everyone else on the block is stealing cars so I might as well too. I hope what u say is not true and I do believe its not true. FB can't collect data on u if u don't post it on their site and especially if u don't use their site at all. I hear these Oculus things are shipping now. I really, really, really hope the customers say "NO!" to this. There can't be any legitimate excuse for this. I did hear FB is launching a service where people can take an actual virtual tour of about anywhere in the World. I never thought of that; this sounds like an amazing idea. If people want to voluntarily film their surroundings wherever they are and post them that's fine.
So, does a thumbs down mean u favor private companies collecting data on individuals? So, that's alright, as long as u make money controlling and manipulating people by private companies is OK with u?
Oculus Rift owned by that scourge company, FB, says they need to collect customer data to deliver the correct experience to the customer and this data will be handled by FB. What the $#%$ do they need this for? And, oh yeah, u can trust us to keep this data safe. Absolutely, why do people get so out of shape thinking the gov't is collecting data while this should be acceptable??? But, HIMX is only an enabler if they have much association with Oculus at all. I sure hope Oculus sales fall flat because of this.
Where Las Vegas gets its water. If real desperation sets in somewhere in the World people will probably turn in desperation to FSI and the stock will soar to heights u never imagined. On another issue I was somewhat concerned the wild fire in Alberta, CA might threaten FSI, but I saw on the map FSI was essentially just across the bay from Seattle. Nowhere near the same area. Definitely no shortage of water there.

I have another stock that much the same thing has been happening to. Someone said because of the low float these short sellers or traders can move the stock price around at will. Something doesn't smell right here. I bet they're all jumping in now and in a day or two they'll run it up 25 points.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
sometimes makes me want to take my little profit and move on. But, then I think that may be a big, big mistake: Probably in a couple years this VR/AR is going to be as big as the PC, Microsoft Windows, cellphones or any of these devices! They are finding new surprising applications for this every day. They were playing with these things on CBS This Morning show. And, HIMX is right in the middle of this technology.
Some selloff today. I believe some were just waiting for earnings to sell. I'll bet there's a rebound next week and then higher after that.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I'm almost sure HIMX will quickly snap back to where it was tomorrow or early next week. Someone 's got to be playing a game here. This is unreal. Earnings were pretty much in line with expectations; they even beat and they tank the stock like this? Don't tell me the slow climb in the stock price the last several months was due to expectations of incredibly outstanding earnings. I think they know of the positive developments coming out of HIMX like the recent ramp up in production and have found they can manipulate the stock to better get in on a good ride.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Maybe u should go back and complete the 8th grade! So is this what u base your science knowledge on? 7th grade science? That was global average temperatures they were talking about. Can't u figure this out, nitwit? If u can't understand such a simple concept no one needs to hear your opinion. Also, yeah right, if I want to know what the Earth will be like in a million years I'll ask a 7th grade teacher!
