I agree on interest rates - nothing will materially change till the next presidential election cycle.
Good investing to all.
PS: America is great because of private individuals, not goverment or multi-national corporations.

What I think I heard-
BV North of 26 as of last Friday
Improved hedging for higher volatility conditions
Ability to comfortably use more leverage if sensible return available
Plenty of dry powder to ride out near term negatives
Re-balancing as needed
My conclusion - AGNC continues to be a very well run mREIT for investors
Sentiment: Strong Buy
...projected output to double in ten years.

From today's presentation:
"Significant Capacity to withstand Market Disruptions"

I like how the WSJ pointed out the 10yr is about where it was last April before QE-to-Infinity was announced - nothing has really fundamentally changed for mREITs other than a better spread through the QE tapering, which could result in several YEARS of above average payout. The tapering transition is a opportunity IMHO. I don't know where all the screeching sheetheads on here have come from, but I saw the same behavior during the last good buying opportunity. Good investing.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Anything below $28 is a good buy IMHO. I'm an investor and like to hold, so I use these 'panic sales' to get my basis down below most of the typical volatility. Rates will have to increase a great deal before well managed mREITs like AGNC become unattrative for me. I expected the tapering of QE-to-Infinity to create added volatility, but a return to pre-Twist will be a good thing for the mREITs I believe. Just sayin' and good luck investing.
Yup, your right. He doesn't eat, sleep, take vacations, or hang out on his farm.
Hmmm, not sure the 10 yr goes above 2.5%. That said I figured the Fed slowing QE-to-Infinity would cause market volatility - so I see this down move as an opportunity to get in or accumulate. FYI: I got in big the last time this happened and have a basis in the low 20's
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Boo Hoo - Life is tough as you collect nearly $500k per wk while you tell everyone else outside of the Exec Office to learn to live with less.
What was really 'rich' was the ESTIP plan approved by the top-Lt's and the CEO at the start of the year produced less payout than the year before. Everyone else in the Co was told to live with those results. However, the Lt's got a 'special' distribution to make up for the reduced payout on ESTIP. Look it up in the proxy. They can't even abide by the compensation plan they approved!
I'm accumulating..near-term spreads are moving back to where they were before QE-to-Infinity.

If you sold, then why still here?

Sheetheads are everywhere...More importantly 10 yr approaching 2%
A firm 'BUY' right now.

Thanks you. Spreads will increase.
Lot of BU's bagging the year already...
I can see selling if folks got in at +$30. Most AGNC Long's got in in the low $20's, and many have recoved ALL their initial investment in dividend payouts. If anyone can right the AGNC ship it's GK and AGNC will continue to deliver above-average payout for patient investors. Speculators need to look elsewhere.
Sentiment: Hold
I'm figuring the USW is counting on Obama and the Obama-stacked NLRB to help out a bit. Just sayin'.
With the TLO's and ongoing compensation cutbacks, most all in the office and shop are now 'working to rule' . The cost accountants running Cat are so myopic.
