I totally agree. The problem is apple's market cap requires apple show a path to top 2015's record year which showed an amazing 30 plus% increase. It's like a show called "How can you top this"? Earnings won't quit skeptics because the market will focus on one thing, Can apple top last year's 74 million iPhone sales." If they can by how much. I repeat apple needs the TV franchise to blossom and become a meaningful revenue generator in the billions. The iPad, apple pay, apple music, apple computers and apple watch together don't rival the iPhone. There are billions of Tv's in the world which all can benefit from a comprehensive Apple Tv in multiple rooms. That's why Netflix gets the high PE and apple needs to get original content and a streaming service. Apple Tv's will be a huge seller and my hope is apple uses that platform for the next big thing.
I love the company and am not selling a single share but right now we have the second biggest seller the iPad in retreat, the watch has not taken its place in revenue, and computer sales are declining. For now all we have is a great iPhone franchise of sales on par or slightly ahead or behind last year. Based on this apple is a value stock and a good one at that. Value stocks do not get high PE's and PE expansion is what we need.
My hope is the TV becomes a revenue generator and a hub for connecting
to music, homekit, and a deurring revenue streaming model by the first half of 2016. Until then i see no meaningful breakout or breakdown of the stock.
It's been coming for a while.
Like myself and my wife we intend to upgrade but are opting to go to the apple store for the first time. With that in mind we are waiting for the first month first adopters to get theirs before we go to a store.
Apple can hire people just to troll for any company any place on earth that has a better idea that fits apple's plans. There is no way the market has priced this in.
There is little chance the malware infested Android is going to challenge apple which means apple has the 2 trillion dollar market to build a franchise for the next 5 years. With msft a non factor in phones apple has a clear path to capture a market Tim Cook said made 25 BBBBBBillion in the last year.
When recently read Cook saying that Enterprise did 25 billion in revs I surely thought it was a misprint. I checked several different publications and confirmed the number. This went right over the analyst's heads as usual and is a major change in the balance of enterprise corporate power. No wonder IBM and Cisco are onboard. Apple has a lot of room to run here and this is great for investors now in a apple stock.
Without China the stock would really be down. Lucky for us Tim Cook got it done. Apple needs to develop home kit and shape up apple music which really sucks. They should have done more to keep the people who tried it for free. Beats is a bust and Jimmy Iovine and Angela Ahrendts are stealing money. If apple TV SIRI isn't what they say it is I'll be very disappointed.
Personally I am going to the apple store to get an unlocked phone with apple care . The carriers are going to be cutting each other's throats to get subs so keeping switching options is a great perk for me. The price is secondary.
Extremely harsh. Takes the bloom right off the Job's rose. That and his first wife's expose on him as a dead beat Dad denying paternity. Jobs was an amazing leader but as a human being he was very flawed. I'll take Cook any day especially now.
Loved apple pay with my phone but with the watch it is absolutely magical. Click the side of the watch and put it up to the terminal and bam you're outa there.
Next month the liability of fraud shifts to the retailers if they don't have a terminal pay system in place. Now I ask you how many retailers are going to go very long with this guillotine hanging over them before they pony up and get a system in place. Then you'll see how willing apple subscribers are willing and able to use apple pay.
The market for Apple products has been misunderstood from the jump because the numbers are unfathomable in terms of our frame of reference. How can we imagine what it's like to sit in traffic with 50 lanes. I saw it and i still find it hard to believe.
