Hey, do you know how to change ID's. I think its time to retire mine for something more biotech sounding.
to "Apple supplier Skyworks". Every article I see starts with that head. Goes to show you the world is full of uneducated people. What about the 75% of Skyworks that's not Apple?
The area of strong support is at $12.20 to $12.80. That is the place you want to buy. I have been waiting for that price since this all started with Hillary's comments.
That is why I have been buying my other biotechs lately. HZNP is just one of 5 biotechs I own. The damage isn't as painful then.
The stocks down nearly 80% from its high for 2 drugs that account for 70 mil out of 700 mil in revenues. Try to figure that one out.
Yes, This drugs is only indicated for a rare genetic disorder. It is only taken by 2 to 3k people. It is not like 100 million people are paying this price.
I don't typically talk politics but I hate democrats. Their just communists in American clothing.
These 2 drugs that are being attacked by HZNP are combo drugs. To understand why doctors do and will continue to prescribe these drugs, you have to understand the science. Many people believe that OTC (over the counter) pain medications are harmless. This is very untrue. All OTC pain meds come with very devastating side affects when taken long term. To use an example: All of you who know me know that my dad had to go through a major surgery back in June. This was because he was prescribed by his doctor to take OTC pain meds for pain. He was also prescribed Nexium to offset the bad affect of pain meds. Because he couldn't feel the damage these pain meds were doing, he didn't take the Nexium. After a few years the pain meds ate a hole in his stomach spilling acid into his intestinal cavity nearly killing him. He had to go through a major surgery and spend 6 weeks in the hospital. This is why doctor prefer to use drugs like HZNP's that combine the pain med with a protection med like Nexium. They know that the costs to treat a patient who doesn't take their meds as prescribed can be more costly. These drugs have many patents covering them and they were fully approved by the FDA. It isn't like someone cooked them up in their garage. HZNP uses a PME program that charges the patient no more then $10 for the drugs and then bills the insurance company. Most insurance companies cover these drugs because the alternative is far more costly. If an insurance company doesn't cover the meds, HZNP sucks up the cost themselves. This is a huge win for patients who never have to worry about affording meds. HZNP is doing right by patients. Right now they are in their quiet period ahead of earnings on Nov 6th. They cant defend themselves. This just give more ammo for hedge funds to short it and scare people out. Only in America can doing right by patients be and evil thing.
I put on my core position around $30, but I haven't added to it since then. I don't like to catch a falling knife. I will wait till is shakes out to put on more.
Right now, HZNP is a company whose sector is getting much negative publicity thanks to Hillary. Those companies were well loved and held by fund managers. Now those fund managers are getting destroyed by a bear raid as they are trying to make a panic exit. You just have to let it shake out. It will take some time to blow over. Just watch VRX as a cue to when the panic is over.
Mostly because they go into items that are considered consumer discretionary. In a recession, typically consumers pull back from non essential spending. That is why I said I don't think it applies even though money manager might bet that way.
For 3 weeks we were on the dash for trash rally, where money managers were buying oil, materials and industrials on possible better global growth. Now today, suddenly, we are on recession watch with managers rushing to Utilities, Consumer staples and Healthcare. I see why these guys underperform. They are complete idiots. Good news is biotech should work its way back to the highs again for those of you who were listening to my pounding the table on them. Semis are considered cyclical tech so should do poorly. The thing is that smart phones are not cyclical but secular. They will do good in a recession even though they will be heavily bet against. I am now heavily weighted to biotech with 50% of my portfolio in CELG, REGN, BMRN and some HZNP. HZNP is in the collateral damage of VRX. Until the ordeal blows over with VRX, HZNP will still be under selling pressure.
I don't think it will be straight up here. I think there will be times when bad data could send us down pretty sharply. I have changed from a sell the rallies to a buy the dips mentality.
GDP was 6.9% which was better then expected. The industrial numbers were weaker then expectations. Retail sales came in strong at 10.9%. In a normal world that would be very good for smart phones.
If I am going to own something for 15 years, I want something that can go up 1000% over that time. I don't want dead money. Dividends are good for retirement income, but no one ever got rich off just dividends.
I don't think they overpaid. They will be able to sell assets that don't fit their core strategy and recoup part of the costs. Then they will streamline the processes and eventually drive innovation.
The stock was at $31.92 the day before Hillary's comments. Within days it got cut in half. I find it so funny people think this is about DEPO.
