Might sell off into the mid eights after this div cut, I will look at buying more if it does. They must be worried about the fed taper and being able to pay the div with income.
Your right about past performance.
I do believe that KMM would be in the high tens right now if the FED situation and all the political messes, obamacare, Iran, no balanced budget, huge debt problems an so on would be resolved. The uncertainty has been a drag on bond funds and stocks that rely on borrowing lots of money or lending money.
It would be nice to return to some type of normal, stable situation and not always be under these conditions and bubbles all the time.
I may place an order for a few shares this week at $9.20. It's hard to beat this yield and KMM wont stay down forever.
Huge volume right before the bell. Pretty sad really lots of people long here will take a hit.
Just glad I sold when I did and made 40% pure luck.
I'm retired and only worked for pipeline companies and on some drill rigs in the Western states. I never have worked for a DRA supplier or any affiliated companies.
If Michael Whelan say's it's not economical then AOT is more than likely dead in the water.
There are always new inventions on the market and most of them are duds when the costs are all added up.
The AOT magnetic approach for reducing crude drag has already been tested by the Faculty of Che mical and Natural Resources Engineering, University Malaysia Pahang without much success. It was called Magnetic Force as Drag Reduction Enhancer in Pipeline Transportation
An Experimental Approach.... The results showed that it could only induce a small amount of drag reduction. Testing was done in 2011.
Pipeline companies aren't stupid they will test new equipment on a lease approach if it doesn't save them a substantial amount of money they will dump them in a heart beat.
Maybe this is what the old CEO already knew and headed for the exit.
Yep, you got that right.. I'll take a look at GIM thanks.. I think we will get support here at around $9.05 if nothing drastic happens thatt would be my guess at the short term bottom.
I was in Alpine a few years back and sold it all after the first dividend cut. I lost a bunch of money when I sold and had to day trade my way out of my losses I did okay and was able to recoup most of what I lost... I check on the price from time to time just for fun. The best move I ever made was to dump Alpine. Another site I use to do research on mutual funds is Morning Star they rate funds by stars 1 star being the worst ADVDX has a 1 star low return and above average risk. I don't trust the management in Alpine. That's just my opinion. But, reading the posts here I don't think I'm alone.
The yield is calculated without any (ROC or return of capital) a portion of GABUX is considered a return of capital. This is good for your taxes if you don't hold your funds in a IRA account. ROC is non taxable. Also on a closed ended fund or CEF always check to see if it is selling at a discount or a premium by going to CEFconnect... Or using KMM for an example on yahoo type XKMMX to see the "NAV net asset value of the fund" Kmm has a NAV of $9.94 but the buy price is $9.26 today so it's selling for a discount..
For example go to GABUX and click Historical Prices on the left hand side of the page then click on (dividends only) there you will see GABUX pays .07 a month 7 cents per month. You can do that on all of them it will show you monthly or quarterly payments. Also on the closed end funds you can do more research on a website called cefconnect.
Zerosum, No hard feelings from me. I decided to sell this and made a few bucks doing so. Hey, honestly I hope you and all the other share holders make a killing with this stock, but as for me I have moved on. I come back from time to time to read the news and was a bit shocked the CEO resigned especially just a couple of months away from delivering the AOT to Keystone. Seems very suspicious to me, but maybe there is a good reason.
Cheers, best of luck :')
Looks like you could use some Prozac or a good stiff drink. My God take it easy this is just a stock that sucks!!! one of many.
