Posted by Dmesshian earlier today: where I gave credit to the blogger!
    - I've never visited Fargo, ND. The blog was sent to me by a former college girlfriend, pal.
Please spare me any apology, and just carry on -- just want to set the record straight!

Please note from this popular blogger in Fargo, ND
    - 8. And – the big one – Affordable prices! (Mallory and I both did some comparisons with a few other local stores to confirm this.)
*This is where the "rubber hits the road" for Natural Grocers(NGVC), and its organic customers!
    - So, you can connect:
"Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage has a S/TA ratio -- sales to asset ratio -- of 2.93 which means that the company gets $2.93 in sales for each dollar in assets. Compare this to the industry average which is a ratio of 2.13 and you can say that NGVC is a bit more efficient than the industry at large."
    - This is essentially how NGVC and privately held Trader Joe's are "disrupting the organic retail industry"!
    - You will never see NGVC & TJs being labelled as: "Whole Paycheck" and overpriced!
NGVC's "Brilliant Strategy" is displayed in their smaller store concept with lowest pricing on organics, plus; becoming the "Specialty Organic Retailer" of choice to Mid-Town America!
NGVC is on pace to eclipse $1 Billion in sales in the next 2 to 3 years; if not sooner -- at it's current growth rate! *If growth accelerates, like the Retail Analysts are anticipating; given its torrid pace of new store openings across Mid-town America, it could be way, WAY sooner!

    Highlights from my visit today:
    - 1. NG’s mission is to offer products that are safe and healthy – as such, there’s a list of foods, supplements and health care items they refuse to carry (that could potentially eat into profits or limit clientele – you’ve gotta respect that commitment!)
    - 2. Healthy cooking and informative seminars offered weekly in-store
    - 3. Opportunities for certified employees to conduct demos and seminars in the community
    - 4. Store employs a Credentialed Nutrition Health Coach
    - 5. Employees receive above-average pay, great discounts and more unique perks
    - 6. Fundraising drives are held that benefit local food banks and other non-profits
    - 7. When you bring reusable bags, $.05 for every bag is donated to our local food bank
    - 8. And – the big one – Affordable prices! (Mallory and I both did some comparisons with a few other local stores to confirm this.)

  • The "Best Practices in Retail" that is being implemented by the top performing retail companies today, and being taught in most of the top Marketing MBA Programs today; relies on surrounding your customers with conveniences.
Consumers live very active and busy lives and this new paradigm developed and being implemented over the past 5 years is customer driven to providing what retail customers want.
    For example:
    - consumers want convenience over speed
    - some prefer to buy online to pick up in store
    - others want to submit orders via mobile for pick up in store, or; delivery via Instacart, Uber, etc.-- at the specified time & location of choice.
Currently the "Best Practices in Retail" is being practiced successfully by Trader Joes & Natural Grocers, both eschew eCommerce on their websites for innovative and superior customer experience and are tops in in growth and profitability.
    - Fortune magazine estimated Trader Joe's sales per square foot of floor space to be $1,750 — more than double that generated by Whole Foods Market. Plus, revenues are upwards of
$12+ BILLIONS!!! - There are no plans for TJs to enter the eCommerce arena
    - Right now Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage has a S/TA ratio -- sales to asset ratio -- of 2.93 which means that the company gets $2.93 in sales for each dollar in assets. Compare this to the industry average which is a ratio of 2.13 and you can say that NGVC is a bit more efficient than the industry at large."
*He keeps skipping over the most important of information for all investors, as if; he deliberately wants to distract us from: "NGVC is projected to see sales growth this year of 20.25%, crushing the industry average of 4.63% and further underscoring the company’s title as a great growth stock". Growth that is 4 to 5 times the industry average. That tells me NGVC stock will not be "flying under the radar" with that kinda' growth for long, and: isn't this right where you want to be awaiting the bullish rush to NGVC.

What!!! You are such a "shameless prevaricator"!
    * sjohns & inv.muller = 1 person, has 19 out of the current 21 comments on NGVC mssg board! Please go check for yourself.
It's called the preponderance of the evidence,
    - It requires only a visual look at the whole mssg board.
You've just blown your own cover.
My comments amounts to merely 2 since the Market opened.
***So, who is the pumper, pal? Seems like you need to look in the mirror 'cause you seem to be urinating into a strong wind on that charge, dude!

Investing is about the candidate's prospect in the future, especially in finding a great growth stock, like NGVC, and buying it when its spectacular prospect have been clouded by plenty of naysayers -- like that "sky is falling"-- short-trader -- dude -- posting stuff all over the NGVC mssg board over the past 7, or 6 weeks.
    - In his classic work: "Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits" Phillip Fisher explained this in detail.
    - Fisher could have been ridiculed, until one realizes that; apart from his mentor, Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett took advice from Fisher.
NGVC is a prime Philip Fisher type of stock by all the metrics he taught investors to use in finding: Hidden Gems flying under everybody's radar exactly before it's discovered to maximize one's gains!

There is a very high positive correlation between StarMine Ratings and the future performance of stocks achieving high bullish equity ratings!

  • dmesshian dmesshian Jun 24, 2015 3:34 AM Flag

Please be advised that the StarMine Equity Summary Ratings are always forward looking.
Be advised that: "past performance is a proven poor indicator of future returns."

    What slowing sales???
    - not because Barron's says its true; does itmean that its true.
    - The record shows that NGVC is growing 4 to 5 times faster than the retail industry avg.
    - The facts are: NGVC YOY growth is +21% versus the industry's avg. of 4.6%
Barrons has been wrong hundreds -- if not thousands -- on their calls over the years that I've been a subscriber!
I see this Barron's call as a "contrarian indicator" because I have "total clarity" of the playing field with all the corroborating data in front of me!
    - Barron's is a great publication, however: there are no "sacred cows" in the world of investing.
    - Even Buffett & Munger-- the smartest money -- in the investing universe, from my perspective; make mistakes, and I have much respect for them and attribute a whole lot of my investing education to: Buffettology!!!
*I am convinced the StarMine rating and the Retail analyst are in the "Cat-Bird" seat, Barron's will be shown to be out to lunch when NGVC quarterly report is released.

Starmine Ratings is the Gold standard in performance measurement. It offers the most proven, fair, and rigorous tools to objectively measure analysts performance. StarMine evaluates the profitability of buy/sell/hold recommendations and the accuracy of earnings estimates. Their sophisticated rating system is used overwhelmingly by prudent value oriented individual investors, mutual funds, and institutional investors.

  • dmesshian dmesshian Jun 23, 2015 1:53 AM Flag

The indisputable fact is the Retail Analysts have done their job!
    - They are saying that NGVC is the top performer in the group who has consistently outperformed the sector over the past 4 Qtrs; while the other players in the sector has underperformed!
    - That's why NGVC has been the focus of all the upgrades and the 7.6 bullish StarMine rating!
    - The "specialty organics sector" has gone through a correction because of the "weak sisters" who delivered less than stellar Q1 reports -- while NGVC's business continues to soar.
    - The retail analysts are pounding the table because: NGVC is the "Hidden Gem" in "Specialty Oragnics"!

sjohns: "--So be it if you are so lacking in moral standards that you must resort to complete lies/fabrications, on a daily basis, on relatively benign matters, such as referring to others (who disagree with you) as a “short traders” or wholly fabricating their past NGVC investment history (e.g : dmesshian June 15, 2015 “……..he lost capital in NGVC stock 18 months ago…”)

You drew first blood dude! You talk about lacking moral standards???
    - Here is just a small sample of your rampage -- not only against me -- but a few of your choice remarks against others:

    - sjohns- above in you resp: "Pumper (aka dmesshian, whisperingpines, lebuitre)"

    - Today: "The deperate PUMPERS (aliases dmesshian, whisperingpines, lebuitre)"
    - Earlier today: Perhaps NGVC hired a “professional pumper”…….lol.

    - May 28th: "D-Mess: You’re hilarious! Once again, the illogic is almost dizzying."
    - May 28th: "D-MESS: Can’t read? Don’t know the difference between past and present tenses?"
    - May 27th: "“This is NGVC's message board!” Hypocrite! You, Pine-Nut, Pimple, etc. have all posted about WFM. Pine-Nut"
    - "D-Mess: You can’t read?"
    - "D-Mess, I point out repeatedly that NGVC"
    - "Pine-Nut, Big Pimple, D-Mess (aka LeBUTTre, Splatt-boy)"

Oops!!! There are just too many offensive post from: the "NGVC mssg board Bully" to post them all!
    - So all I could do is to gather a sampler!

  • According to Zacks:
    - NGVC has seen a nice streak of beating earnings estimates, especially when looking at the previous two reports in 2015. In fact, in these reports, NGVC has beaten estimates by at least 10% in both cases, suggesting it has a nice short-term history of crushing expectations.
    - The company has turned in 3 consecutive Qtrs of beating expectations. This kind of performance will not go un-noticed for much longer. Investors will soon find this "hidden gem" as its business continues to deliver above avg. growth.
    - Two quarters ago, NGVC expected to earn 14 cents per share, while it actually produced earnings of 16 cents per share, a beat of 14.3%. Meanwhile, for the most recent quarter, the company looked to deliver earnings of 19 per share, when it actually saw earnings of 24 cents per share instead, representing a 26.3% positive surprise.
    - Thanks in part to this history, recent estimates have been moving higher for Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage. In fact, the Earnings ESP for NGVC is positive, which is a great sign of a coming beat.

  • NGVC's Equity Summary Rating: 7.6 (Bullish territory)
WFM Equity Summary Rating: 6.2 (Neutral )
TFM Equity Summary Rating: 5.2 (Neutral )
SFM Equity Summary Rating: 3,7 (Neutral)

    Retail is 100% about MARKETING!
Econ-101? What are you expecting scarcity or shortage of organic products to sell?
    - How come the "MBAs Retail Analysts" haven't picked up on the problems you keep highlighting
    - and they all went beyond Econ-101, eh?
Could it be we have to follow your advice above and: "Watch out for the DESPERATE PUMPERS on the NGVC mssg board?"

Why NGVC Could Beat Earnings Estimates Again. According to Zacks:
    - NGVC has seen a nice streak of beating earnings estimates, especially when looking at the previous two reports in 2015. In fact, in these reports, NGVC has beaten estimates by at least 10% in both cases, suggesting it has a nice short-term history of crushing expectations.
The company has turned in 3 consecutive Qtrs of beating expectations. This kind of performance will not go unnoticed for much longer. Investors will soon find this "hidden gem" as its business continues to deliver above avg. growth.
    - Retail analysts are certainly doing their job by bringing this outstanding growth story to light!

By DEFINITION: The Stock Market is a for looking discounting mechanism,
The Retail Analysts and StarMine ratings reflect that concept!
