    Intel CEO Brian Krzanich

Someone has sent out a fake but official-looking press release trying to drag Intel into the Israeli/Gaza conflict.

"It's a hoax," Intel spokesperson Chuck Mulloy told us.

Intel is being targeted because it's a huge employer in Israel and is in the process of building a $6 billion facility there.

The fake press release falsely announces that Intel is suspending those investments. And the people perpetrating the hoax are going all out to make it look official. Not only have they set up a spoof website that looks like Intel's real PR site, but they have a guy answering the phone number included in the press release.

We called the number and a man with an American accent answered, "Hello?" We asked him if he was Intel PR and he said he was and then tried to convince us that the news was real. He told us, "We're not closing anything in Israel, we're just putting on hold for now our investment. It will very likely go through in a few months." He told us "we are trying to get ahead of ourselves" so Intel wouldn't suffer from "negative opinion."

Intel is investigating the incident. In the meantime, if you read reports about Intel condemning one side or another between Israel and Gaza, don't believe it.

    FAKE press release:

HOAX: Intel To Suspend Investments in Israel Due to Assault on Gaza

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS:- Intel is suspending previous plans to invest an additional $6 billion in Intel's Kiryat Gat facility in Israel until further notice.

    - Intel will conduct a reevaluation of its business relationship with Israel to ensure compliance with Intel's stated Code of Conduct guidelines and Corporate Responsibility goals.

    ---

SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 7, 2014 – Intel CEO Brian Krzanich today announced the suspension of a previous decision to invest an additional $6 billion in Intel's Kiryat Gat facility in Israel and that a reevaluation of its business relationship with Israel will be conducted. The review will help to ensure compliance to Intel's stated Code of Conduct guidelines and Corporate Responsibility goals.

"Intel takes seriously our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen," said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich. "We view corporate citizenship as the relationship forged between Intel, the communities in which we operate and society in general. At Intel, corporate citizenship is firmly anchored in our corporate values."

Intel's Code of Conduct serves as a compass that guides the actions of employees, directors, and business partners, ensuring consistent and uncompromising integrity as we build trusted relationships around the world. Intel is also a United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) LEAD member. The first two UNGC Principles are regarding human rights.

Intel releases an annual Corporate Responsibility Report. "For us,corporate responsibility means achieving business success in ways that demonstrate respect for people and the planet and uphold the values and high standards of ethics expressed in our Human Rights Principles and our environmental health and safety policies," adds Krzanich. "In all our activities, we need to uphold Intel's long-standing, global reputation as a role model for socially responsible behavior."

Intel Israel is the country's largest private-sector employer. Mooly Eden is Intel Israel president and is also in support of the decision. He is confident that Intel Israel is "here to stay", despite the investment
suspension. Eden has been speaking to Israeli government officials over the past weeks regarding its military policy and the negative attention it brings to the country and those businesses that operate within. "Intel has consistently been recognized as one of the world's leading corporate citizens and most ethical companies," states Eden. "Our commitment to doing the right thing runs deep in our corporate culture. We don't view corporate responsibility as a fad or marketing scheme."

The Kiryat Gat facility is only 15 miles from the northern Gaza Strip. Reports of the destruction and loss of life resulting from Israel's recentassault on Gaza, in addition to the blockade that Israel has imposed on
the people of Gaza for the past several years is not something that
business leaders can continue to ignore.

Further details on Intel Israel's business evaluations will be released in
    the coming weeks.

When AMD will be bought by SAMSUNG it makes sense that Samsung did shut down its own ARM server program!

Why did Samsung cancel its server program?
Rumors abound but SemiAccurate dug out the truth
Aug 4, 2014 by Charlie Demerjian

Since SemiAccurate first reported that Samsung shut down its server teams only one question remained, “Why?” The answer to that has had many theories about problems at the company floated but we finally dug up the answer.

Since the shuttering of the program happened very quickly, without warning really, there have been few hard answers. The Samsung ARM server program was shut down a few weeks before our exclusive story in early June, various sources put it in early to mid-May.

Intel reportedly struggling to hit tablet SoC target due to SECOND DELAY of 14 nm Cherry Trail

Intel down because intel failed again !

Intel reportedly struggling to hit tablet SoC target

40 million units this year eh?

Intel is reportedly struggling to meet its own target of shipping 40 million tablet processors this year.

Until recently Intel was rather bullish in its reports on the state of the tablet market, but after burning almost $2 billion on contra-revenue programmes aimed at tablet vendors, Chipzilla's tablet push appears to be running out of steam.

The original plan was to transition from 22nm Silvermont-based parts to upcoming 14nm Cherry Trail processors later this year. However, Cherry Trail has been delayed from November 2014 to the first quarter of 2015, reports Digitimes.

This is the second delay for Cherry Trail. The chips were originally supposed to launch in the third quarter of 2014, i.e. right about now. Due to the delay, Intel might not be able to ship 40 million tablet parts this year, per its plans.

The biggest single adopter of Intel tablet parts so far is Asus. Chinese white-box tablet makers are also scooping up subsidised Intel SoCs.

Youre right " the future is not bright for INTEL, and they know it! "

intel insiders know it for sure! read at fudzilla ( Intel insiders dump shares )

Five Intel insiders have dumped shedloads of stock, making many wonder if they don’t believe the share price will stay that high. Five Intel insiders took advantage of a stock price near a multiyear high and sold 1,159,605 shares for $39,177,241, an average of $33.78 each, from July 16 through 21.

Chief Financial Officer Stacy Smith sold 614,432 Intel shares for $20,839,382. Regulatory filings show that Smith exercised options at prices ranging from $12.98 to $26.79, and they were set to expire April 17, 2015, at the earliest. Smith owns 186,320 shares. His most recent previous transaction was on January 30 when he sold 51,200 shares for $1.3 million.

Thomas Kilroy, executive vice president and general manager of sales and marketing, exercised options and sold his entire direct stake of 349,595 shares for $11,907,065. He continues to hold 80,972 shares through a trust for himself and his wife. Kilroy's most recent previous transaction was on June 13 when he exercised options and sold 86,400 shares for $2.6 million, an average of $29.75 each through a 10b5-1 plan.

President Renee Jo James sold 101,580 shares for $3,381,598 and William M. Holt, executive vice president and general manager of the technology and manufacturing group, sold 73,998 shares for $2,365,308. David B. Yoffie, a director, sold 20,000 of his indirect holdings for $683,886.

Intel has been doing OK lately and reported a strong second quarter and helped lift shares to a multiyear intraday high of $34.83 on July 22.

Some analysts think that the share price is too high and it will have to fall over the next year or two.

  • ... Intel is reportedly selling its tablet chips for less than $5, or one sixth of the official list price. However, at $5 the chips can compete with offerings from Rockchip and Allwinner. They are cheaper than tablet chips offered by Qualcomm, MediaTek and Nvidia.

Intel's prime targets appear to be MediaTek and its SoFIA partner Rockchip. Both outfits have a strong foothold in China and so does Allwinner, which specialises in even cheaper chips for sub-$100 tablets. This is not a market segment typically associated with Intel. White-box tablets are a high volume, low margin affair. Intel likes things the other way around, but it is still burning a lot of money to seize a chunk of this market....
