@Sherman & Moktar - Based on your answers it appears again that the payment was not for the CA, or any other litigation. It was from bankruptcy liquidation. Payment appears to be a first installment as assets are sold by the court.

I remain hopeful that the $.78/ share becomes the reality.
    Other hopes:
    - CA becomes reality
    - lawsuits against Hormel
    - Lawsuits against managers - "clawbacks".

I guess at this time we still have more time than money.....

    SH,

YOU may be right IF as you say only those in your CA time period have received credit. We shall see. :-)

I agree with Sherryjohn. To get money back from the bankruptcy you had to just own shares when the company went bankrupt. They would know who the owners were at that time.
My guess is that individuals who STILL own their shares (me as one) will get a credit right to their act. Those that sold their shares AFTER the bankruptcy date (maybe to take the tax loss) will have checks mailed.

@cohenofir - I had 2 acts at Schwab, one was an IRA & the other a normal trading act. Or as Sherman would say, a "fun" act.

    Quick points:
    - The payment we just received was NOT from the class action.
    - The payment we received was from the BANKRUPTCY
    - It appears that this payment is (hopefully) the first 14 cents on what was estimated to be 78 cents/ share in total payments from the liquidation in assets under bankruptcy.
    - For the class action, you must have filed paperwork & we are long past the deadline. (Dec. from memory)
    - The amount a shareholder can receive under this will vary tremendously by individual. Depending on when you bought & price and when you sold & price, they had 5 buckets that would qualify.
    - The class action criteria would then determine what they considered your "recognized loss"

NET? You should get a bankruptcy payment like everyone else.
IF you want to google the class action and spend a few hours (quite complicated - I had to correct their calculations) you will know what the amount would have been. $0 or maybe up to $1/share.

I would not bother as I believe that ship - has left the shore. Hope this is helpful.

    Cheers

    @ Sherman,
I had a wire payment to both an IRA and as you say, "fun" act at Scwab.
Also if this is from bankruptcy, then payments would be the same to all stockholders regardless of losses. The Class Action lawsuits would be allocated according to their formula for "recognized" losses.....I believe.
Please keep us posted if you get additional feedbacks... Cheers

@gavalisg - that confirms its a bankruptcy payment. I believe I read something (not sure) that stated that bankruptcy payments would be in installments. Does anyone else recall seeing that? Although better than nothing, I thought the amount would be much higher from this bucket.

My Schwab act (2) were both credited on the 18th for 14 cents/ share. I do not know where this came from.

Just states "bankruptcy". My guess is that it is just that and not one of the class actions. Now the question is was that a total or a first payment???

    - stock buybacks
    - armed forces contract

Dumb_parent - This is a STOCK chat board. It is designed for investors. YOUR NOT.......simple enough for you?
Why don't YOU take your constant, slanted, dribble elsewhere where there are others of your kind? Your ARROGANCE is exceeded by your IGNORANCE, that no one here wants your political opinion.

To purchase a new machine, so I can pay more for cups that are "exclusive"! Costco should just come out with their own universal machine.....

Also the anticipation for a under carbonated, high cost, chemical soda is hard to endure!

  • dprofiteer dprofiteer Mar 26, 2015 11:48 AM Flag

You sound like a arrogant mindless echo. You live on this board for what reason?

IF YOU do not "like" the tone why don't you just close YOUR eyes and put your fingers in your ears like most 4 year olds?????

Last question for dumb_parent. Why is it arrogance & ignorance usually go together???

  • dprofiteer dprofiteer Mar 26, 2015 9:47 AM Flag

Stupid _parent........I asked a few simple questions......tic tic tic

Yes YOU are a fool. Look at Obozo going after the police everywhere in the US. Tried to turn IRS into personal Gestapo. (STUPID parent believes e-mails are just missing) Armed Mexican drug lords. Giving nukes to Iran. Does NOTHING about black on black murders. Dats ok bro. HIS Chicago is the poster child of tight gun laws.

    So moron, answer my questions!

Its easy to see why he hates American citizens being armed.

  • dprofiteer dprofiteer Mar 25, 2015 5:33 PM Flag

    Parent_is _stupid

liberty's point is valid - libs LIE! Only a moron believed anything Obozo said about Odumbocare, but that is a lot of people!
    - Do YOU believe the IRS e-mails are just missing?
    - Do YOU believe Hillary gave up everything after months of cleansing?
    - Do YOU believe anything that comes out of that failures mouth? Really?

Obozo has an agenda to disarm law obeying citizens, yet cares little about gang bangers in Chicago. He is fine with supplying guns to Mexican drug gangs, but hunters beware.

This is an investor chat area, and you have no interest except trying to tell people who follow the law, how wrong they are.

  • dprofiteer by dprofiteer Mar 25, 2015 5:01 PM Flag

    I see TWO huge mistakes!
    - One is that they think they can funnel people into an exclusive machine just for the convenience of PAYING MORE for a cup.
    - Second is that they believe the trend away from soda (driven by health), will be addressed by an expensive, chemical heavy pod.

I have no shares, but the high P/E is based on huge growth and I only see declining comps.

    parent - for -idiots

I was QUOTING what a leading DEM calls his voters........ Who can argue? Libs like kaptain_lou, do not even know the difference between an auto & semi-auto???

So parent, was Gruber just telling one more LIE, or are his voters truly "STUPID"?

(pssssss - and yes Hillary's missing e-mails are with the IRS (Obozo Gestapo) missing e-mails.....they are just "missing". Believe that too parent? YES, libs are "STUPID". Just ask leading Dems.

  • dprofiteer dprofiteer Mar 19, 2015 11:30 AM Flag

Just ONE "STUPID' lib as pointed out by Gruber.

What they said was you did not have a "RECOGNIZED LOSS". Refer to page 5 of the original notice. It shows the five different categories for generating a "recognized loss". Be very careful & read slowly. IF you'll you have one call them asap as a deadline is soon. They can get it wrong!

Look at my previous e-mails. I also got that notice, and I showed them I was correct. I scanned & e-mailed my work sheet.....

I do not believe he was referring to Obama. It appears he was addressing Netanyahu...

About the only thing #$%$ has done right is walk away from that mess. Now if he only supported US energy independence...
