Resignation news one day before earning report? You would think If earning was bad then the smart thing to do is the kitchen sink thing by announcing both bad news at the same time and get it over with. My wild guess is they wanted the market to digest the resignation debacle 1st knowing it will sink the shares and then release a better than expected earning report (even if they have to be ultra creative with the math if u know what i mean) to make up for the stock drop. We'll know in few hours.
the big guy seems to be quite upbeat about the qtr. I don't know what u guys think, but i believe this is as close to inside info as it gets. below r some quotes from the Denver Gold Forum presentation.
"I can tell you with great confidence that I am very excited about what we will be able to report at the end of the third quarter because as poor as our second quarter was, we've seen a nice rebound in production particularly in Manantial and particularly at Deloris in the current quarter that we'll be reporting on in the not distant future"
Here he is talking about cost & OZs " I can happily say that in the last two months of July and August, (and the 1st 25 days of Sep) we've made that goal and made that target". further down " I am expecting much better production in the third quarter and as a consequence a much stronger second half of the year. I am expecting our cash cost to go down beyond what we've seen already".
