Nuts to buy puts unless you know for a fact that Alibaba's IPO will price terribly or be terminated. I have no doubt Yahoo will be around $42.50 when the IPO finally trades.
Shack Shake is a free standing store right in front of the center, with great viability. Noodles is an inline store with poor viability. The rent is very high and they do virtually no business. Why should they when their potential customers have dozens of better places to eat. If this site is indicative of site selection this company is toast.
I think the speculators got a little too greedy today. Maybe I'm wrong but I just heard a video from the former US Ambassador to Russia. He said the problems in the Ukraine will last for years. He said Putin sent in aid, in hopes the media took its eye of the ball, as Putin send in heavy weapons (destroyed by Ukraine). After the close it was reported that civilians / refugees leaving E Ukraine in a convoy were shelled and burnt to a crisp. They don't know how many civilians were slaughtered. The press was asked not to show any photos because they were too graphic. Putin is not done yet. I don't think Libya or Iraq have turned around either. Nor do I think Israel and Hamas will ever come to terms. I think one morning we will all wake up and hear the news and see oil at $150. I don't know when, but I sure wouldn't be speculating it wont happen.
The market was supposedly up today because of diminished global tension. Doesn't bother me if the market goes up or down. I own undervalued stocks 70% and I'm short overvalued stocks 30%. I just think the world is a scary place and times sure have changed. IMO that could lead to a safe asset scenario and cause the S&P to top 2500 this December.
Live in (spelling), I would not leave the USA, unless Obama rewrites the constitution again and runs a third term.
Don't get me wrong I'm in favor, I just didn't know Popes approve of military strikes. Will the Pope also bless strikes against the Russian terrorists who just blew up a convoy of civilians leaving Eastern Ukraine? I mean they burnt them to a crisp. What about Boko can he bless a jungle strike too? What world do I leave in?
You are funny. Trying to teach me the industry which I spend 30 years consulting before I retired. They have a revolver and they will have to use it if they want to expand. Management is out to lunch, pun intended. You don't expand unless your concept is working. Site selection is key. Did they replace their RE Department? These are the same guys who selected sites which are under performing. Either they picked poor sites or their vision is failing. The number one rule determining the success of a chain is same store sales growth. Where is the beef? You can be bullish all you want. He can proclaim a rebound or a double bottom ... whatever. The bottom line is Noodles is failing and it's priced to perfection. I am paying a high rate of interest on my short I purchased this morning. I am not happy about it; however there is a reason why the rate is so high. If you want to buy "priced to perfection" buy Chipolte. Although its valuation is high it continues to grow at a high level. Do yourself a favor and move on. The writing is on the wall and its not in hieroglyphics.
Started a small short position today. Not happy with the 20% annual charge, but thanks Albert. I'd like to know how they intend to expand when they have no cash. They either have to borrow money or do a secondary. I'm going to check out their location at a mall this weekend. I've never been to one of their stores. I'll be looking for body count at dinner time and how long it takes to be served. I will also ask the store manager how they are doing compared to last year when they opened.
Damn its been a cold summer. Then again when Gas got down to this level before it proved to be a good buy. If it dips some more I may be compelled to buy.
There you are. Nice move in Uranium today. I assume you are short Noodles. It's kind of hard for me to short at $21 when it was $25 yesterday. What's the story and how much room is left on the downside?
Albert, Soros is in the minority on Uranium, but it does bode well for longs. He obviously sees something in Cameco, because I don't think he is invested in the other miners. I see you on other boards. Are you still short Zillow like me? What else are you short?
For sure they are paying more now than last month. The stock market has been on the edge. I've been buying the out of favor turnaround stocks like Cameco. The way I see it, Cameco makes money in spite of one of the worse times in the history of Uranium mining. Imagine earnings in a normal uranium market. I see Uranium moving up this past month. If it continues higher, you want to be in this stock.
Does nobody know? On July 24th the price worked out to $1.51 USD. Was this an arranged short position being covered at a premium to market? Really curious if anyone knows the disconnect, if there is one.
