Why would they buy shares back? They will know before most of us do when the tide has completely turned. You can't continue to power a world at a loss. You can't continue to supply steel manufacturers at a loss. No one is making money in coal right now.... but they will be...they will be. When the coast is clear... buy them up and make out huge. They are the insiders... and it is their job to capitalize on behalf of the shareholders.

I think Alpha is currently already authorized to buy shares back now.... I'll have to look back again and check to see how much is set aside for it.

Hey look... an idiot with an actual bit of truth in his claim.... but not really. Fossil fuels are a limited supply. Therefore, yes, they will eventually need a replacement. The truth is - there is not an adequate economical replacement unless you are serious about nuclear - and that is definitely not cheaper than coal. The truth is...THERE IS NO ECONOMICAL REPLACEMENT FOR COAL RIGHT NOW.... WE NEED TO HAVE ONE READY IN THE NEXT CENTURY THOUGH. We need to conserve what we have until it is ready.

Dirty? That is the absolute lamest claim that all you punks put on coal. Dirt is dirty. Coal will leave a black mark on you if you touch it, but its not dirt. It is fuel. You are less likely to die touching coal than you are shaking hands with someone on the street. You are less likely to die from breathing in scrubbed coal exhaust than breathing in the air in a crowded room. Why don't we talk about the cadmium used in solar panels? that is not dirty either.... but it is toxic. Why don't we talk about how many wind turbines would be required to fuel our country at its current rate.... LOL!!! please...

They are burning cash because of interest and significant price drop in coal. They should eliminate the former enough to drop interest payments to get the bottom line in the green while the latter corrects itself. Sometimes you got to make sacrifices. Wall Street Loves sacrifices.... like some aztec king.

    By the way.....

Matthew 5:22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire

They should hold their shares of rice. If they do sell them, they should eliminate debt with proceeds. You don't give money away when you aren't making profits.

  • Its coming... and these 3 are primarily responsible. The blood will be on their hands.

2.4 M tons - you know that US consumed a billion tons last year right?

  • When a bunch of amscray folks that have a lot of money and no science knowledge get conned into believing that the air they exhale is going to be catastrophic...... There is only one motivation - more an effort to get more control over the freedoms and liberties of other people.

They could have done a million other productive things with their money.... They could have put our nation to work in a manner that would make our nation better, stronger, more safe, more productive..... instead... they attack the constitution, break down the foundation of our nation's forefathers - (see the matrix of liberty) pit neighbor against neighbor, .... and continue to lie, cheat and steal liberty from a nation that was founded upon liberation from overbearing government.

If you want an overbearing government that has no interest in preserving the longest running democracy in histroy..... Then you know the party to vote for. If you want less liberty, less freedom, less opportunity... you know the party to vote for.

The power of holding on tight during a war

Don't give them an opportunity to make you give them something by writing a contract on your position that would give you an overall loss if it expired in the money either.

The only thing they deserve is hard time.

  • There is much less money to be made by the computers if you hold tight to your shares during this destructive campaign. They don't deserve anything from you. Don't give it to matter how ugly it gets.

I could care less what price you put on the stocks. I still love coal. Take all coal stocks to 0.0001 if it makes you happy. It might as well be there anyhow. No one is gonna sell it to you for this at the volume you need.

Coal prices rising around globe except US. You'd think that a 10$/ton increase in a week might get some attention for a company that can export 20 -30 million tons a year. The cold is just starting to settle the sun energy wanes, temperature differences between the poles and equator become greater and the pacific supplies a path of least resistance to the North Pole for winds derived from these temperature differences. That is why California is dry as a bone and the Midwest and northeast are going to freeze off for the next 50 years or so until the global temp differences reaches a more stable equilibrium. This is just the beginning. ridiculous global warming news stories can't change that. Boston and other cities that don't have a good diverse energy portfolio will have an energy crisis. It's a shame that those in "power" can't handle the truth, but instead, blow ungodly amounts of money covering it up in an attempt to instill a government that is anything but a democracy. Truth is power. Nothing trumps the truth. You can spend all the money in the world trying to make a lie the truth, but it will still be a lie".. And the most likely result is chaos as these truths become self evident. Perhaps that is the purpose.

Fight back against climate change? that basically shows how much of an idiot you are. The climate will continue to change weather man haults industry or not. You can't stop it. Don't bother to try. There is about to be a cold spell come across the world that has not been felt for over 3000 years. Not even Miami will be spared in winter.

As we speak.... James Hansen and Al Gore are being burned by ICE. They both claimed an ice free arctic this summer. In fact.... this year will clearly mark the most ice in over a decade in the arctic.

You can't stop it. You should change your name to a frog that jumped on a frosted rail on a tennessee line.... you are stuck and about to get crushed by a steamer that was ressurrected at the Chattanooga railroad museum.

no.... There comes a point in everyone's life where you just got to say F- Off. and let it be. You and I both know the folks that manipulate the prices of stocks are completely crooked. It doesn't matter anymore to me... no matter at all. The PRICE does not matter. The fact remains that you will not have the opportunity to touch my shares anytime in the near future. The fact is... MORE AND MORE people are beginning to feel this way, and it shows in the volume.

People are afraid to trade at this level for fear of loosing their shares they got at this sick price.

I'm logging off for good.... until its been a year from the first purchase of this accumulation....FAIRWELL!

  • dr_vvatson by dr_vvatson Jun 24, 2014 3:34 PM Flag

You'd think there was something important announced...... nah.... Just a precursor to an energy crisis. Good idea to sell? If you don't mind bowing out off the best opportunity available on the market.

Been here already and been lower.... I could care less if you take it up slow and slam it down hard and end up right back where you start it and do it again..... KILL SOME TIME...... pushing pennies like a real genius.... I've accumulated my stake and I'll be taking the long term tax on it....

I'm sure one of you DB's are gonna show up and say I'll be taking a long term loss on it...... I'll let you know when I've held my stake for a year. I may still add some more if you give me more of 3 and a quarter.
