No tobacco company has 30% annual growth rates. If you check, lo has has 10 % annual rev growth and 5% overall growth, 30 is not normal for a mature company. Stock appreciation doesn't jean growth it's value, but that is different..genius....

I appreciate the response. Analysts are often wrong. Look at their buy recommendations! LOL...

whether undervalued or overvalued again will be determined at sale like any company or asset. I think those thinking 80 are nuts and even 75 would be high. As mentioned, you do the math, which is correct from previous post, and you get a range here like indicated. Look at option activity, there is nothing at those prices.

Typically, stock price will run up to about a 2% discount to the merger price. then dissolve as the date of closing for the transaction approaches.

I would be my assessment is spot on. Trading tobacco for years, I am familiar with multiples, value, market etc.

There isn't talk of Blu even in this purchase. Interesting. Will be very telling this fall when MO launches their E cig.

The big value in all tobacco to me is marijuana. it's a no brainer and govt would support because tobacco companies have infrastructure to grow, manufacture, and distribute. most importantly, govt can control and TAX effectively.

Similar challenges with E cigs right now and how they are classified in many states.
    Govt wants it's $$$.

will be fun to see how this plays out.

Anyone writing calls against this price?

  • simple assessment of stock price for buyout.

the talks began when LO was valued around 17-18 billion. there was always talk of a 30% premium on the company value. thus, you do the math, we are just under $24 billion which, unless regulators or another suitor come into the mix, will be where this will ultimately end.

There are many moving pieces to this deal and they are being sorted out, but it looks to be a done deal.

Not much premium left in this at this price..i would say maybe you could squeeze out 67.50-68...that's what I see. no way more unless there are things we aren't being told or suitors not revealed. Not sure who else would buy it or regulators would allow. clearly not PM/MO..they are big enough. deal puts 2 major tobacco firms.
Easier regulations going forward and if they get into marijuana, easier to regulate.

long and strong all American tobacco companies..lots to be made here..

Been trading tobacco since 2000..not some donkey here...

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
