This functional validation should be completed any week now. Look for good news, then a push higher.
Early spring 2014
At the risk of making a complex subject sound simple, the company has created liver cells that behave like the liver cells in our bodies for up to 30 days. That's a vast improvement over what is available now for pharmaceutical companies looking to see if their drugs are toxic to the liver.
Just this month, the company began functional validation of these 3-D liver assays. Basically, this means that the assays will be exposed to drugs whose effect on real liver tissue is known. In order for Organovo's assays to have any value, they need to demonstrate the same metabolic reactions that occur in the body. Hopefully, investors will know by sometime in March whether the assays produced the desired results.
Don't listen to these bozo'z. It's nice to hear some positive perspective on the stock, but real us all back in to the risks that can occur. I'm hopeful that you will start seeing Big Pharma start lining up for the liver assay an collaboration efforts like the NIH just recently did. THis will COMPLETELY change the way Pharmaceutical drugs are developed. To get an earlier read on drugs that could be toxic to the liver could be a savings of $200 - $500M for one single drug. This stock could make a lot of us rich
I have no information, but just wondered the opinions of others. Would GOOG ever consider splitting the stock soon? Maybe that would be a bad thing for us? I'm wearing the Google Glasses, and all I see is GREEN
