Its the 1990's and AF's boss Jim Cramer was just a occasional guest commentator on CNBC. There was a small company called Celgene that was going to use Thalidomide to treat multiple myeloma. Yes, the drug that caused horrible birth defects in the 1960's in Europe and the FDA's big claim to fame banning it here in the United States before any such effects were realized.
So Cramer would trash the stock every chance he could...not matter how good the data, no matter what programs Celgene was putting into place to assure no birth defects would occur. He did it for years...even when sales started to ramp. Fast forward today and he praises Celgene all the time but what did investors miss ? A 3:1 split , a 2 :1 split and another 2:1 split...he was trashing it in the low teens and on up for years and years. At a recent $150 per share and adjusting for splits it's $1.800 a share. Now if you listened you may have caught 50 points and feel good but those who did real DD and had conviction easily made more than a 100 bagger !
Rely on your own research and not what the Wall Street worms want you to think. You won't hit them all right but you will do far better for yourself.
LONG CYTX and staying that way !
