I believe an offer will be made, I just don't think it will be as big as some would like. The market cap is already nearing five billion. Keep in mind this is for half of the US profits and I believe a smaller piece of the international. My guess is an offer comes from Astellas in the 6 billion range, which would be around $80 a share. The price of this stock, much to my joy, has surpassed my expectations already. Perhaps I will be wrong again. I hope so!
Funny how your making all sorts of money on OSIR yet you spend your day yapping on this site. A site you continue to haunt as one of the few remaining DNDN sad sacks. As for who made the most money today I guess its easy to make all sorts of claims anonymously on the internet. Check out the Nov 70's 300% gain today and tell me again who had the best day.
I believe it was two quarters ago Astellas reported before MDVN. Being a company based in Japan it was not prominently mentioned anywhere here. The results were nothing earth shattering so I did not act on or profit from the news. Last quarter after Astellas released the sales numbers MDVN quickly followed with a news release merely repeating what Astellas had reported. Today I was surprised there was no follow up by MDVN and the press didn't catch on until late in the day. I am happy to report the DurangoKidd profited from this oversight. All of this is not surprising considering Bominreal apparently still can't seem to find it.
Alpha is reporting the Astella sales numbers are for two quarters. They would still be up nicely either way. I bought and later sold some Nov 70 options today in my Roth. I didn't catch the low or high but still doubled my money, all tax free.
I am shocked by their market value. Wonder if it only includes their US holdings? They appear to be a huge pharma with worldwide sales and a big pipeline. Not sure why the market cap would be barely above MDVN's. Its tough deciphering their reports since they deal in Yen's.
With the huge increase in sales they are spitting distance from a billion a year for just the one indication. I am surprised MDVN has not released a statement. Once they do we could see a further bump in price.
I don't know a great deal about Astellas. They do have a diverse product line and a decent looking pipeline. I have long felt they would be a likely buyout candidate being they intimately know the product and like all large pharmas are constantly looking to grow. Anyone else buying MDVN of course would only be buying half a product and inheriting a partner.
For an early peek at sales numbers watch for the Astellas press release. Their quarterly release is Nov 1, and with the time difference it is already Nov 1 in Japan.
Conspiracy theories have been running here for two years. Good luck.
You have to subscribe to get this info yourself, something your average Joe probably does not want to do. The data that has been posted here tends to be timely and accurate.
Been on the market longer and has lost any momentum they may have had. Feel free to bet on a fading nag if you wish but the outcome is usually poor.
Oops looks like melonhead/genius forgot which of his multiple alias's he was posting under. He even gave himself a thumbs up.
Down in afterhours? There was a single trade for 38,900 shares at $59.28 followed by one 200 share trade for $57.17. As long as you think like a rookie and present selective stats you will perform and sound like a rookie. This stock hit a new high today. Quite a feat given its rise over the last two years not to mention what some have called a "huge" miss on earnings yesterday. But what do I know, I am one of those fools that have ignored rookies such as yourself who have been calling for this stocks collapse while rising 700+%.
So you are devoting your life to warning others of the dangers of investing? Your endless, repetitive rants are falling on deaf ears. I would suggest you find a more meaningful charity to devote your time to.
Great call bear! Wish I could say the same. Since we peaked in the upper 50's I have been selling covered calls on a third to a half of my position. I figured there were no immediate catalyst that would cause me to lose my shares. I have been making good money until now, my July 55's and 57.50's will likely get called away at the rate we are going. I planned to wind down my position anyway as I am moving away from individual stocks and going more into etf's and mutual funds. I recently retired and though I have more free time to monitor my holdings I find I have less interest in doing so, not to mention the volatility is not good for my stomach. I will likely be holding at least some shares until spring of next year so will continue to check in from time to time.
PS I like the talk of the takeover rumor. I had vivid dreams last night that the were making an announcement this AM. My thought is that if anyone made a move it would be Astella's. I can't see another big pharma wanting to deal with a partner. Back to lurking in the shadows.
Astellas is forecasting 400 million in US Xtandi sales for the next twelve months.
So first the stockgenius lies and says they get nothing for foreign sales and than when corrected scoffs at the 10-20% royalty they get. What a class act. And considering they only get half of US sales while splitting costs the foreign deal looks pretty good.
Saying Adam is wrong is rather redundant, don't you think? I pretty much assume everything he says is wrong. He fits right in with The Street.
