You are a typical trader. ARR is not a trade, you hold for the long term. You should thank management for the opportunity to buy more shares while it is down. Take a look at history, and how everytime the stock tanks for one reason or another and people like you come out of the woodwork to whine about it, it rebounds. go ahead sell. I'll take your shares anyday.
In the past week, the market goes up, FB goes down like today. The market crashes FB goes up. The price movement is inversly proportional to the overall market! What gives?
If you look back at history, they have performed an SPO about every 7 months or so and usually during a runnup like we had in the past week. That means an SPO can happen any day through March. It's fine with me if it happens... I'm looking for another entry point
I've been waiting for a pullback to add to my position. You are getting a 12.5% return on investment if you consider the 5% discount DRIP buyback price. I'll wait another couple of days to see if this bottoms out then pull the trigger.
I received my dividend and bought back shares at 11.25 which is below current market value. How does PSEC determine the DRIP price? Is it better to receive cash or to DRIP?
Lots of strength in the sector even after the expected dividend cuts. Any thoughts?
Can someone explain what the impact to the BDC industry would be if interest rates rise? Negative? Positive? Niether? Do they have hedging strategies in place in case? Interest rates are expected to rise probalby next year.
For those who DRIP their dividends I feel manipulated that the DRIP prices was after the 4% gain on Thursday. And now the PPS tanks leaving us holding the bag. Deliberate manipulation?
I DRIPED @ 3.922
Predicted it would happen by end of March but was off a week and got slammed by other's who thought it wouldn't happen ;). They probably bought in at 51 or so. I used it as a buying opportunity and added more shares.
We all know that KMP is best of class posting about 100% gain in PPS about 4 years not including the dividend. I'm hoping with the consolidation and simplifying their business model, by end of this year we will see a dividend hike and hopefully significant price appreciation after 4 years of non-growth.
Look at the charts, same pattern for the past 6 months. We are now on the upswing with momentum/volume increasing as we approach earnings. I think a short squeeze is happening that should kick the price higher in coming days.
That's why I sold! Nice 20% in 2 weeks. And to all you bulls, yes this may go higher but like they say, you can't get hurt taking a profit. Will buy again on weakness.
I actually do use both strategies. I have stocks that I'm still holding after over 4 years. Most of my holds are long term ie. over 2 years on average. But I dedicate a little cash for short term trades where I see unwarranted overselling to take advantage of momentum. Szym was way oversold with no significant news and was bound for a rebound heading into earnings so took advantage. However, this is still for me a speculative stock so will only swing trade it.
I don't have a crystal ball so cannot give you advice when to trade. I sold today since the stock has gone up 15% in 2 days. In addition, the general market has been up two consecutive days and are hitting all time highs again. So I took this as an opportunity to take advantage of market conditions and secure profits. Szym may go higher into earnings. And if they beat may go even higher. But I still consider this a speculative play so my goal was to sell before earnings to avoid any downside risk. I met my goal.
Dude, beat meaning beat expectations. Whether it be earnings or plans is irrelevent within the context of my trade.
I did exactly what hogramt did. I see the same pattern. All of you who are slamming him for selling are complete idiots. He made a profit. Anyone who makes a profit shouldn't be criticized.
Poker, everyone has their own trading style and risk tolerance. Making a trade for profit is not short sighted. it is smart. Look what happened to those who bought in at 14 and held for a long term gain. Are they short sighted?
I agree with Hist. No dividend increase until at earliest Q4. Meanwhile be happy about collecting your 12% in dividends (7% + 5% discount) value if you DRIP.
I made a profit...nuff said.
