    Suggestions and ideas on CEFs

Buy NCV , NCZ - Both are run well. They have been consistent. Both are loaded with financials, both will do well in 2015 when rates begin to slightly rise to .25 or .50 bpts. Banks do well when rates go up. I have owned these since 2004. I used to own PHK but the premium is ridiculous, as it will likely be cut in the future. NCV and NCZ are solid and don't do ROI unlike PHK and others.

NAV of NCZ vs. NCV both still big premiums

We're finally getting some rate clarity. At least in the short-term. It should carry nicely into early 2015. Load up. I have a feeling rates will go up in late 2015, and for what's it's worth I believe it's ok for this fund. Fed is learning how to communicate to a rate sensitive jittery market. Today is proof. NCV/NCZ will be ok in the short term even medium term. As long as the economy is stymied by democrat policies this will do well. If we get a Republican in 2016 the market will take off too, however the economy is likely to do very well which will heat up more possibilities for more rate hikes. Obama's failed policies have actually been pretty good for NCV / NCZ.

This is loaded with financial convertibles. Those should do well if the fed raises rates. It's not the worst thing that can happen. All these junk bond funds just want clarity desperately from Yellen. Once they can clearly see a low and steady program from fed well articulated they will all calm down and a major uptick will happen. NCV/NCZ NAVs are really looking better every day, as well as the rate it pays. We may ( a big maybe ) even see a tiny special dividend. I called it a few years a go, and everyone thought I was nuts. Wait and see...

NCV is oversold. The outlook for financials is very good going into 2015. This is still a low interest rate environment. Even if rates go up .25 even .50 the fund will adjust. An increase in rates is actually very good for banks. NCV is loaded with financials in top 10 holdings. Way to many people flocking in same direction, crying the sky is falling on NCV/NCZ. It may drop another dollar but this is not 2007/2008 crisis. Fed today even imposed more reserve regs of upto 4.5% in big banks. It's just another protection going into place for the long haul. This is good one for 2015. Once there is clarity, and rate decisions are made it will calm and stabilize. Way to much media hype and sensationalism going on with this future rate hike. I mean it's ridiculous. Honestly it will take 2-3 years to go up maybe 1-2% if that. This market is so charged up and artificial stimulators and Fed knows this. So they will proceed ever so slowly to avoid 2008 again. Load up when it goes down!! I wish I would have loaded up more in 2008 when shares where at $2 and change..

HUH ? Douglas Forsyth sold. So what. It was only $159k big deal. These guys make bank, that's like a little bonus amount. He manages NCV, NCZ. Why no selling in NCZ... because all of this is arbitrary. Also why not mention UBS making new statements of ownerships in NOV 2014 into both funds NCV and NCZ. What do they know that we don't know which makes them want to own it in NOV and not in June ? That is the real question.
