  • Cramer HYPED this LOSER 3 consecutive times each with about 3 minutes of pure HYPE on his show back in March 2010. This pps was then $5.50. It's still 10 cents below that price. Well, maybe in another 5+ YEARS
    it will get there.

Good for you, Pops. I have a few more shares than you and I feel the same way. And I like that quote by Will Rogers, a great American. God bless you.

Citigroup focusing on buyback, not dividend raise

    by mead2014 May 28, 2015 9:04 PM

This LOSER during the financial crisis accumulated close to 35 BILLION shares. After the reverse split (which annihilated this LOSER) they still have over 3 BILLION shares and after selling ALL their prime assets just to stay alive. Yeah, this LOSER management needs to focus on share buybacks because this LOSER will go no where in share appreciation. The market cap is ridiculous now. Why anyone plays a LOSER like this I have no idea. There are a plethora of great companies out there in which to invest including banks.

  • Around 11:30 edt, someone purchased 3.53 MILLION shares and stock etched higher. Hmmmm!
    Something going on here? Hmmmmm!

  • Adelson opens conference talking dividends and increasing them. (1) Adelson concentrating on MASS MARKET. VIP gambling affected with crackdown but mass market doing great. LVS has increased its's share in Macau from 21% to 28.5% in the past 2 months. He thinks mass market will improve because the 1.3 BILLION
Chinese is a culture embedded in CHANCE TAKING. Additional properties will be based on SUPPLY creating DEMAND. (2) LVS focusing on other countries for expanses (i.e. Japan, Korea, Indonesia). He says 1 property there equals 2 or more properties in China. He cites Japan with 2 casinos could generate $40 billion in revenues. (3) He talked about his CEO role in Macau. He wants people to report to him and not the board. (4) Focusing on non-gaming business. 90% of business will be non-gaming. Has presented plans to Chinese for
TROPICAL GARDEN, a 1 MILLION sq.' retail with condos, etc. Says Parisian Macau will equal or surpass
Venetian. (5) VISAS - no talk about limiting them (6) Smoking ban - thinks smoking will still be allowed.
    (7) Sheldon + board loves dividends and buybacks. Plans to increase divi's by 10% each for the next 2 years
and, hopefully, beyond. $2 billion buyback authorized couple qtrs. ago and will be used. (8) has great loan capacity to expand/develop with int. rate below 2%. Financing readily available. (9) Focus on new properties in other countries featuring entertainment (retail, restaurants, entertainment, condos, and gaming). Good interview by Bernstein gaming analyst.

"Pick a price target"? If the company looks promising (good management, profitable, pays a dividend, and is 'best of breed' in its category) buy some shares.
Don't worry about the price. Only invest a portion (say 5-10%) of what you wish
to have in the stock. If it goes up or down buy more IF the situation warrants it.
If something changes within the company that no longer satisfies why you initially bought into it SELL all your shares immediately. Average down or up. Just a
synopsis of how to invest. Your 'price target' may never be realized.

I have been buying since 2009. It has been volatile. I added even more shares today and will continue to do so if this continues to fall. Their upstream business will still be questionable but the downstream business (where the profits will be) should be significantly positive. New plants opening will increase revenue, too. The RTI acquisition should close (hopefully) in June or July and any arbitrage
should end with it. This business is not going away and the stock is on sale presenting great appreciation going forward. I would rather buy something 'on sale' vs. paying full value. Buy shares only with CASH and have a 2-3 year timeline. Good luck.

Why Alcoa Is Stuck In Neutral

Really thought it would be raised earlier this month. It would have been a clear, positive signal. It certainly would have propelled the stock higher. This company needs some positive news. Klaus disappointed me
    on this opportunity.

And Sheldon will be there to represent us. Will be in New York City and his segment begins at 10:00 eastern.
Will this be open to the public? Would like to listen in.....

Hmmm, the man 'behind the dress'....

  • Devastating. This is huge money. Was worth over $72 million and now $12+ million. And could possibly lose a lot more. Today's news is not good. The CEO who quit is like a 'captain abandoning ship' while sinking.
He does not want to 'face the music' which must be really bad. Playing this stock is like 'playing with fire'!
Disc: Never any position in this company.

Stagger your buying for every point it declines. You could have about 10 or more opportunities. And it could very well be more....

Citi stock price $ 5.53 a share post reverse split

    edblue1003 edblue1003 May 20, 2015 10:14 AM Flag

It's a pitiful bank. CitiHYPE is one CROOKED bank and the bag holders (I mean shareholders) just carry on.
$5.53 a share representing a 91+% decline from its high just a few years ago and a dividend that is 91% lower from its high just a few years ago. Yeah, what a PATHETIC investment.......

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

  • Another HUGE fine in currency trades (FOREX). This is one ILLEGAL bank. With all the crimes they commit it makes one wonder just how many crimes they have committed which were not discovered. "Gravely illegal trades" as stated by Loretta Lynch, Attorney General. The banks didn't act as competitors but as 'partners' in crime. CitiHYPE pays $925 MILLION and is the largest fine ever in the Sherman Anti=Trust. $5 BILLION combined 'fines' for all the banks. And life goes on for the CROOKS. They're still in business and the FEDS wait for the next 'discovery' and will accommodate the crooks with another HUGE fine. In summary, banks will continue to be CROOKS and just pay the fines when they (the CROOKS) are caught. What a business!!!!

So what was bad about the earnings?

    by seysmont May 19, 2015 4:42 PM
    edblue1003 edblue1003 May 19, 2015 5:04 PM Flag

Wall Street expected a 'break even' in earnings and the company reported a 84 cent share LOSS.
This is why it is down. Huge loss vs break even. Revenues were slightly higher.

  • Anticipated EPS for year ending is $1.05 which equates to less than PE of 8. Average PE has been 19x. Many are expecting a higher number than $1.05. Seems cheap here. If stock performs this stock has a lot of catching up to do. Way below S&P of approx. 15x.

Diversification is the key to LVS Success

    by quadrotriticale May 14, 2015 5:03 PM
    edblue1003 edblue1003 May 14, 2015 8:31 PM Flag

Bottom line: A stock like this is one to accumulate on weakness (which is where it has been for months now).
The situation in China will stabilize at some point (it could be days or weeks or months - who knows). But when it does this stock will appreciate dramatically and swiftly. Meanwhile, enjoy the dividend. It should continue to pay out at the level where it is today and, possibly, be raised in December. This stock is the 'best of breed' in its category run by a genius who is not just the CEO but owns half the company. His money is where his mouth is. I, like you, bought this stock cheap ($2.43 back in March or so of '09) and have added since then and will continue to do so in this price range. BUY when the stock is sold at a 'discount' and sell when the euphoria
will prevail once again. Target: $75+++. When it gets there the investment needs to be re-evaluated; and I believe it will probably go much higher from that point based on the China (Macau) situation, Japan, and other market opportunities. And I won't even mention the REIT possibility upon which Sheldon has commented.
    Good luck!
