Of course it's possible to short AMBS. Anyone who says it isn't possible is somewhat ignorant. Why do you think AMBS put a "no shorting" clause in its funding agreement?

I did attend Gerald's Presentation on Tuesday in L.A. I think I was the only shareholder there because I was the only one speaking with him afterward. (About 10 minutes) I saw Driven's comments about his meeting with Gerald and Russ Miller and appreciated them. I didn't get to ask Gerald about the UN Summit so I was excited to hear he will actually be presenting to the General Assembly!
One interesting part of our conversation had to do with Diabetes. As soon as I brought up Diabetes he said he couldn't comment about Diabetes at all. I said, "I know, I know, you mentioned in the CC that you have numerous NDA. But my question is generic. A lot of people have Type 1 Diabetes, so how could Diabetes be an orphan? Is it possible to find a subset within Diabetes to qualify as an orphan?" (Again he shook his head and said he really couldn't say.) I then said: "For example, wolf..., wolf... (I didn't know how to complete the name so he completed it for me: WOLFRAMS) Yes, I said, Wolframs has so few people that actually have it that it would be next to impossible to find a large enough group of them to do a clinical study on them!" Immediately he then jumped in and said EMPHATICALLY, "Oh no. It is known where everyone in the world lives that has Wolfram's and they are a very tight knit community. It would be very easy to do a study on them!" I thought his response was interesting!
I don't know for sure what that conversation means, but I have a hunch Diabetes, or some subset of it, (Wolframs) may well be the second orphan. I asked him whether TBI could be an orphan and the response I got was sort of an "I don't think so." (But it wasn't a clear "yes.") So while TBI is a hot thing we will be moving forward on, I don't think it is the second orphan. And since PD isn't an orphan, by process of elimination that only leaves Diabetes and the Heart. My bet is that Diabetes is the "second orphan data" that Gerald has said he had "in hand" for some time now, but couldn't make it public. He mentioned in last week's CC, they were still "in negotiations." I think that means some kind of licensing or partnership agreement will be announced at the same time. On the CC he mentioned the "outside" time frame for the announcement was the first, or maybe second quarter of 2014. But then later in the call he clarified that and said "Don't rule out that we could announce it in December. The other time frames were the outside limits." So in summary, I think Diabetes will provide us with some positive news soon, and possibly a partnership agreement of some kind.
At the end our my conversation with Gerald I asked him if the shareholders would be happy in February? He said: "Oh we'll be in good shape by the time we hold the TBI Summit!" He told me there would be a lot happening in the next couple of months. I think what he was saying is that the PPS will be in "good shape" even BEFORE the TBI Summit, and that the Summit will even further enhance the stock price.
I think these represent the highlights of our conversation.

Makes perfect sense. Who's to say the most recent investors weren't Chinese.
The Chinese have cash and they want to accumulate gold. Sounds like a great partnership.
