More likely the LOCO IPO pricing drove these gains.

Because the BOD will be in a very difficult spot if facing a 40% premium. The biggest risk here is an offer too early. Only stock I can remember holding where i would say this.

  • LOCO rises 32% after pricing at top of range in its IPO today. 168 company stores and 233 franchise stores. Growth rate of 8-10%. Another example of wall street's love affair with fast casual.

LOCO has struggled for years and has a great deal of competition especially from CMG.

PZZI has 200 franchise stores under contract and very little competition in an entirely new fast casual segment.

The interest in this IPO is probably what has been driving PZZI the last two weeks. I don't know how to value Pizza Inn but intuitively if LOCO is a $700m market cap, Pie Five is worth more than $65m.

Previous highs are a magnet now. Feels like more announcements are pending. $66m is nothing for this restaurant concept. Wouldn't take much for JACK, YUM, even DPZ to buy this company if the market can't come to grips with the valuation. We will have a $100m market cap before YE.

Someone bidding to buy 30,000 shares at $6.90

Many on this board, myself included think this is a 500-1B stock for starters as soon as it is obvious fast casual pizza and this concept has staying power.

The day an institutional investor agrees, $10 m for 15-20% of the company is squirrel nuts. What signals the end of this risk phase will be a registration followed by a private placement.

The chart is saying this dip may be ending. The daily and weekly are in backtests of major averages. The weekly is bullish. The daily is healing. Feels like we are ending the doubt phase of 2014.

    Next up earnings.

As far as shorts go, the smart ones moved on the registration and already covered. A small company with this fire power could rip higher on any confirmatory news. No call options to protect a short position from that event means the only trade is flat or long. Shorts are rent only and the trade on the registration may have already ended.

Add on significant dips. Hold very long term so long as the leadership is intact.

    Sentiment: Hold

These raises are taking too big a bite. They need to get the market cap up. Diluting 20% every time they need 10m is brutal.

When i was in Tokyo in the mass intersection near Shinjuku Station, one shop was selling a chocolate pizza using Nutella and small marshmallows melted on top like cheese. Might be an interesting desert idea.

Also, in Paris they were selling tartines which were really just toaster oven pizza/ brushetta. One of them had tomato sauce, diced ham, finely diced pineapple, some Mozarella, then herbs and curry dusting. Curry changes the whole deal.

    List of Franchisee Partners

At the Roth Conference this year Randy Geir made the point that he wants to create a round table of experienced and cooperative franchisees to further craft the product. He wants his VPs in each region to also manage company stores and have hands on experience in the relevant markets so they are aligned with the franchisees. He was going slow in approving franchisees despite strong demand so these key players would be hand picked for these qualities. Everything that has happened since reflects these strategies. Geir is the perfect choice for this role.

You are absolutely correct on all these points. Randy Geir is very methodical and patient enough to build this model out in a way that lasts.

  • Cup and handle at these lows. Successful test of 50 Day. Just broke up out of handle. With a supportive market it looks like next target is $8 breakdown. Fundamentals are very good. I still say 50M is too cheap for the leader in fast casual pizza segment.

All we need is for SA Pro Intangible Valuation to publish another hit piece and we go. Nice bottom tick JA.

Thanks for posting Dan. You've done very well with this stock since it went BK. Pls keep your thoughts coming.

  • China is cracking down on these social sites because they are a potential source of unrest and as yet the Party doesn't have controls in place.

If you believe we are in the early stages of a bull market in information services on mobile devices in the country with the largest populations of humans on earth, then you look at what is happening with an eye for cycle lows. These services are negotiating with the government now. No service is not the answer because at this point it would also create unrest. When it is resolved, the stock can resume the long term uptrend because of the fundamental premise that information will flow in China just like it does everywhere else in the world.
