Question, could not find both articles. Did all they differentiate between was Gogo's tech capability? Might not have want to disparage a partner and further partner.
The inmarsat S-Band sat is of no relevance. To my knowledge , please correct if wrong. It is primarily used by Marine Radar and Nasa. It is below UHF and can't transmit a ton of data. But very reliable nonetheless, possibly to use for future mandates on aircraft for tracking.
Inmarsat has a whole lot of latitude to install the ground antenna on a GTO solution that Gogo would never have. Think how long they had to get AC and others to change canadian law. Don't look as a bad thing, this will open a huge corridor for Gogo, yes the will pay a bit more for someone to provide, but ultimately they will make out better
i know you don't care for Seek. A. as many, but they had a good article , 'somewhat' re-buffing crammers (i know he is a moron) but it was on top ceo , i believe he got it pegged. Small is a driving force and did not want to sell out earlier for GOOD reasons.
thanks on post , yep it is a very winding road for them in EU. Remember they want to use infrastructure replicated by Gogo. Backhaul on cheap land lines that Gogo set up , could be more $$ as they will go from one county to another . Texting alone outside is crazy money. All this is good news for Gogo , who will step in an implement their plan? Gogo. Inmarsat has the connects to lay down infrastructure, not to implement. Gogo with hook ups with Boeing and Airbus, sweet. Oddly enough I fly more Boeing jets in Europe and more Airbus in US. All good for Gogo
Someone posted only 30 jets, yes at 30 jet and gogo says it averages 100k per jet only 3mil. But that is a chunk on its own. But now let's remember all the bashers who said , when contracts expire, all will go to Ent or ViaSat. Wrong , this proves customer satisfaction , all contracts will be renewed . Apparently someone else agreed , both 350k shares the minute the news broke.
As far as Inmarsat. they want to model Gogo's structure does that alone not speak volumes for Gogo. Ok BA might wanna go it alone for now, we will see. The UK antenna structure will be quicker to set up as much smaller area. The rest they figure 10 years. Once they do, who do you think they might get to implement . As Michael Small said, it is a 1000 page document per jet , before any mechanics are discussed.
Inmarsat will pander this to Gogo same as they did GX , the want to provide the waves , not implement , administer and oversee, they have zero history of any kind to do so.
best of my knowledge none yet, inmarsat still needs to launch 3 more ka sats for GX, 2ku solutions ar bought of intelsat
Seen a couple speculations agreeing with your comment. but, Also saw TheStreet downgrade from hold to sell, on ENT but timing was different, and different reasons of course
Not sure why Goog news would affect, ENT , I could definitely see it affect their satellite provider partner Hughes(EchoStar(SATS)) , but this also affects ViaSat as well for their home internet sat solutions as well.
These are LEO , low earth orbit, that will augment their Project Loon.
They want to use 250lb birds at ku band.
In any event the tech is very very different , and cant be used for planes
They will use Kymeta for antenna's reputable company , but say it wont be phased array (very$$) nor mechanical. How will they deal with polarizations/skew angles ? 360 antennas in one radome?
Perhaps this is why we saw the ATT to DirectTV? They do not want to lose any TV/Internet bundles to anyone in remote areas. All internet bundles will involve ATT
Good thing I do not see this affecting Gogo at all, but as said earlier don't know why ENT other than their sat provider, don't know how that would hit them though,
ok, another solution is to have your shares certified, if you are long, but how did you derive 37.99 if i might ask, personally, I would love to see more short action, let them run, congrats on your shares btw
Close to half mil shares in last two minutes of trading, another 270k shares AH , yet no impact on price. Traditionally with this stock, when I have seen that, it never has been good. Any thoughts?
