(Removed my first post.) It is an open auction, but this is FCC , not storage wars. This an excellent question dnr and hope that someone with legal knowledge will reply. ATT announced their attempt , damaging gogo stock and ability to raise money , and the ceded out.
To put it simply, they do not fit into the equation. ENT's reasoning for convertible note offering is COMPLETELY different to Gogo's. Ent sale in order to get working capital and for general purposes. ENT owes a lot to Southwest. Additionally to offering, any director that had anything to do with Row44 had to sell their options as well.Piper Jaffray and Macquarie will act as joint book-runners on the stock offer; Global Eagle won't see any proceeds from the sale.Global Eagle Eyeing Sale Of Row 44. Hoped that Thales buying Live might spark more interest, but it won't/isn't
It is a bad business model. They installed the most expensive wi-fi solution, single ku-band satellite, on a budget airline.
Gogo turned down Southwest a long time ago, as they knew that idea wouldn't work. No one is interested in buying Row44 or it's contracts.
ATG is way to go for budget airlines
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Uhh , duhhh, this will NEVER see levels below the the occasional dip below 19 , NEVER , the only way it will ever see anything below , would be Gogo failing to get ku spectrum. ONCE COMPLETED IT IS GAME OVER
In past, I posted more about the ATT request to FCC , regarding 4g waves, it was a usage in similar request. But the airwaves ATT was seeking to utilize would not support the amount of data the ku will. Difference your old 28/8 to broadband( That much, Really!!) These airwaves have been petitioned a whole lot longer and proven not to interfere with intended usage restrictions. I don't think, I know this is why ATT abandoned their attempt. It was futile , on so many technical levels, it is not funny. Once this spectrum is obtained, it is GAME OVER for any competitor in NA. Business and Commercial That is not a guess, just a pure and simple fact.
If you need to understand why ATG Ku vs. satellite in this arena is so superior , let me know. Later
Hey eljohnnycakes, you think it will dip that low 17-18? Yeah pullback figured , profit taking by weak hands. It seems like a fair amount of volume was in play getting us up over 19 , seems like this could now be a new support line. This is dipping on low volume and I don't believe any hedge funds are in on it. They are holding tight above, until auction, what the heck can they lose but bit more in interest , and a little more in value. The hedge funds have a good understanding by now, what the ku waves used as ATG actually means. We will just have to be patient until spectrum acquired.
It would be nice to see if this is where the Verizon rumors stemmed from. These tentative agreements were made long ago to be closing on the ninth.
May I pose the question differently. Will we get to know who the investors are?? It is a publicly traded stock so I am anticipating the answer to be "yes", but defer to someone with greater knowledge. thanks
Agree and like what you say, but I am not too concerned. Big gorilla aint gonna take his foot off the neck, until spectrum is bought and paid for , I suspect
for the non-tech learned , do not confuse the 125mhz spectrum bandwidth gogo is seeking, with the mb data transfer capabilities. if needed I will find sites to post to explain.
If anyone knows could you please enlighten us to who has invested the $340M. Should be finalized on the 9th , but don't know when revealed. I would not be too surprised to see ATT on the list, I think this is what axed their plans in first place. They wanted to build an ATG net on 4g/LTE providing 16-18m , this will provide 250 times that amount !!!!!
