it should be a great Q. Hope expenses go down another 15-20% combined with a 20-30% revenue jump...
with that said, MCZ is highly diversified in the gaming industry compared to TB. Look at Amazon listings for just Mad Catz items then compare listings for just Turtle Beach items. Mad Catz has dozens more items offered across a broader spectrum of the gaming industry. Headsets, mice, keyboards, controllers, fightsticks, flight sim, racing wheels, etc. Look at Amazon Japan for MCZ vs Turtle Beach. MCZ has enormously more potential than TB.
concentration creates wealth. diversification protects it. Betting the house, JTRADER, could get you a 2nd or 3rd house. Just sayin...
Amazon is killing it, although that's old news as well. But i've noticed this year, with my own company, that Amazon sales are way up. Way up! Amazon Prime has made a big difference! While you pay Amazon more per transaction for Amazon Prime, you are making a better margin than wholesaling the item to stores. January will be good for this nanocap, with everyone having a little extra xmas jing a ling in their pockets. January is probably third after Dec and Nov for retail sales. There is some pent up demand for a few MCZ items like the fight sticks and $400 racing wheel that will carry to next Q. A couple PS4 headsets can't keep up with demand either...
We need some new meat on the table, something like a Skylanders Mobile Controller license deal. I think MCZ has worked with Activision before. Didn't MCZ buy a spin off from them for $2M years back? Some accessory division? Maybe they'll throw MCZ a bone...
I guess i didn't notice but this was announced and scheduled for released back in April. Def late to market. January is a great month for retail, so it's not a bad thing. Guessing inventory will be booked to next Q when they take possession of goods.
Compatible with: PlayStation 4, Xbox One (Xbox One adapter sold separately), Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Mad Catz M.O.J.O., Amazon Fire TV, and other smart devices
Nice lineup of FREQs. The FREQ 9 obviously tops the lineup. Time to sell the brand. Its all in place. Great job!!
I've always liked that name, FREQ. I can hear hip hoppers sayings "got my FREQs on". FREQs, "Got me some gold plated FREQs". FREQs baby. Got me some FREQs coming next quarter.
unfortunately the steering isn't restocked after a day or two. there should be some good pent up demand for that item carrying over to next quarter. i'm almost as excited about next quarter as this one.
for my area. I'm guessing that's how it works; different DCs show different inventory levels. Amazon reads your ISP then correlates that with a DC in the area.
FREQ headsets look popular in Japan going off Amazon Japan.
Is a tipping point approaching? They've worked their tails off the past decade.
Would be ironic if MCZ became known for high end quality with the new generation of gamers. That could be the case in China where they don't yet have a reputation.
i'm guessing you'll sell like the rest of the herd sub $1. around .90, right sgj?
Not to be confused with 50,000 offered at .56, stop at first.
Comparing Amazon Germany to Amazon Japan, Mad Catz/Saitek/Tritton in Japan looks extremely stronger than Germany. 5x as many items listed in Japan than Germany.
i hope "pickin cotton" catches on as a genre! Facebook didn't invest $2 billion (max payout) thinking virtual reality was a dead end. Glad Saitek is cozy with them boyz.
