could fill that slot at Gamestop? PDP was founded, if you haven't heard already, by Tom Roberts, one of the founders of Mad Catz. About the same time PDP was founded, Mad Catz started making this shift toward a new product line from the generic biz that they were in, spending $30M to buy Saitek, $3.7M to buy Joytech, $1m plus to by Tritton, etc etc. Where is all this going?
They've basically abandoned the lines!!!!!!! Saitek items sat out of stock for 6 months. Steering wheels abandoned. Limited production runs of fight sticks.
I find it interesting that all the generic products that MCZ used to sell to Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc are now sold to them by PDP. Interesting that MCZ pulled out of that market, culled those products, and dedicated millions to developing new products. Will be very interesting if MCZ is bought by Patriarch Partners...
Do you have an opinion about Mad Catz's business? Former and current CEO? Any insight about if they are on the up and up? Would hiring a private investigator to dig around be worth the money?
not sure about a founder but his name is on quite a few patents from the 90s that are assigned to Mad Catz. The Glass Door for PDP is a good read. Sounds just like MCZ except run by chicks.
to execs that just left or original Mad Catz founder, Thomas Roberts. Not to mention $60M of acquisitions.
Pretty good way to defraud shareholders.
because that is what Darren said? watch this get bought out by PDP or Ms Lynn, then 1/2 dozen MCZ products appear in Walmart and Target like old days.
...and he off-loaded all that biz to PDP...
oh bash, you sure like defending DR. how come? That subpoena biz was good stuff. Shows how shady his was and is. Definitely a reason to suspect him of wrong doing.
Simple children don't manipulate balance sheets and the prices of assets in order to make a fortune. It's very hard to make an honest millions but very easy to make a million dollar, hard to prove if fraudulent, deal.
Def seems like some fraud is taking place here. Like we were watching a magic show this past 18 months. Verbal slight of tongue.
