YEllen's appointment could mean Interest rates near zero until 2017. This would help the REIT's share value to increase,
Yesterday it was my first time I stepped into a neighboordhood store Rite Aid store. I was amazed how well the shelf's were stacked with merchandize. I even found an item that I couldn't find at Walmart . Their prices were pretty good specially when they have a sale .They have a two for one sale going on presently . I was amazed on the friendliness of the staff . One staff member was helping a senior to find her items and stayed with her until she was done shopping. The cashier signed me up for a wellness 65 + program and gave me a 10% discount. My experience was so positive that I called my broker and purchased shares. I am very positive in the long term even though the P/E ratio is 17 times next year earnings. I see Rite Aid's P/E to normalize in the mid teens over time.
I think it has to do with the announcement on Oct 29, 2013 of div distribution perhaps? The record date is 12/31/ 2013 and pay date is 1/ 10/2014. Hedge funds are shorting the stock and buying back up to receive the div. .
I agree with curve0808. Most of the boards I have visited they all seem to discuss the politics of our country rather talk about on how we can make money on Ford.
