    New agreement with Sumitomo

Depends what you mean by big? Financially in the short term it doesn't mean anything, but from a technical standpoint it is big as it validates their patents ( at least to one major competitor.) Hope they make this a big talking point at the quarterly CC,

You are misunderstanding , It is not sgnificant from a financial standpoint today so shouldn't move the stock. Only when they have a product that sells against this contract will it have a significant material effect on stock price.

Its worth nothing $ today and hopefully something in the future. Its a development license. They have many of these, only worth something if a product is developed that sells!

huh? Its a licensing deal! UDC gets paid on anything that Sumitmo sells under the license. You are right in that there are no sales because nothing has been manufactured yet. This is another "story" type of news. It means they can make money not that they have made money. its a devlopment license. I am sure that sumitomo is buying some mminimal amounts of stuff for development, it only gets interesting when they have something to sell and they then talk about a production license!

  • Buffalo Wild Wings (NASDAQ: BWLD) was reiterated as a Buy and the price target was raised fron $185 to $208. Derrington believed “the combination of the company's steady double-digit unit development, mid-single digit SSS, and the improving 2015 outlook for poultry production appears poised to drive upside to our B-dubs revenue, SSS, margin and earnings estimates.”

All systems go! Pats Seahawks- great Superbowl!

  • So last year this was in the low 6's in February and then shot up. Was that the quarterly report that made it go up or the some "Frozen" related announcement? What concerns me is that even with all the Frozen hype surrounding this stock for the last 6 months the stock is trending backwards...

What would be the current catalyst for interest? There has been no real news from OLED since last quarter and that news was not good. Loss of some host sales and lower emitter sales. Since then lots of noise about potential new products and potential LG Tv's but no "real news" related to them being able to sell more stuff. Show us proof of growth and then the stock will fly. All it will take is one Long Term production contract, One annoucement of a blue emitter, Customer number "2" doubling there emitter purchases. Any of these would give credence for growth- anything else is just noise and at this point noise will not sell the stock.

LOL- you made me spill a glass of me water. FYI it was the Hekawi Indians ( you can google it) . I loved that show as a kid- still LOL.

I unfortunately expect them not to have a great quarter as they pretty much telegraphed that at the last conference call. But they will tell you about the dozens of new test customers they have.. still waitiing for the production contracts....

More specifically and they have stated this several times- in general you need twice as much green as red in a device and you will need twice as much Blue as green when it exists.

Reviews aren't news they are marketing. Acutal OLED tv sales would be news and when we hear it and it translates to higher emitter sales or better yet a LT contract- then that will be real news. Until then it is more "hype"- Have you heard LG say they sold a bunch of TV's yet? Everything Videogo listed above is great hype but at this point the stockhholders want actual sales data that any of this has translated.
I do beleive the hype, but i don't think it moves the stock until it transaltes into reality- SALES!!!

UDC 3Q14 Red & Green Emitter Sales

    eohippus617 eohippus617 Jan 14, 2015 2:30 PM Flag

    Every legal one...
Host is a commodity and they only got into the business after the fact. They never expected to be in the host business- but initially it did so well that it became a bigger part of their sales. I must admit I am not sure if host is color specific, I think it is. I know they sold initially a lot of host to Sammie because their host used with their emitter worked better then other generic hosts with their emitters. But now because it is a commodity the internal host Sammie uses is cheaper and good enough. OLED is still hoping they can make better hosts that justify the premium cost especially when used in conjunction with their emitters. But the Host business was an add-on and was never originally part of their plan and is much more competitive. They have stated this all along but because at one point they sold a lot of host there became expectations that it would continue and that hurt them when what they said would happen did last quarter.

Good news about the quarter? Man I hope you are right. But they said themselves they expected it not to be a great quarter because of Samsung mobile sales problems with high end and reduction in host sales as Sammie rolls their own Host. So what are you expecting this quarter for good news? An LG ramp up for TV? Which would mean a much higher emitter sales to customer #2?
I mean other than the bi-annuall payment frorm Sammie what good new are you expecting?

Just as it was up last week. Still trading sideways because there is no news. A little concerned as they usually get a bump after a conference, but I think by now even there the analysts are "show me" don't "tell me" . Again this will drift with the market until they have some real substance to give us.

Agains my real fear is that Darice is not the problem. that there really is no real news to tell. No LT contracts , no increase in emitter sales no blue on the horizon... I hope I am wrong on all that...

UDC 3Q14 Red & Green Emitter Sales

Every true OLED. There are older non phospherescent OLEDS mostly used for backlighting screens that are out there. But anybody using Phospherescent OLED with a screen is UDC with at least Red emitter (there are also Yellow and a few other emitter colors I believe- that they make for lighting and other uses).
Remember Green production emitter is only about 2.5 years old they only had Red before that. But as customers start to use both colors the battery life increases exponentially and the power consumption goes way down. If they ever do get a long lasting Blue emitter, those devices will be the most efficient energy users ever made.

They do use OLED Red & Green exlusively but they do not use Green in all of their devices especially at the low end.
