The main point that I brought up is, the "news" that Reuters reported as "news" was ALREADY a rumor a month or so prior, so NOW Reuters is reporting THAT month old rumor as NEW "news" ?

The word NEWS means something that is.............NEW. Reuters is an alleged NEWS organization.

If you want the latest RUMOR, go to your Enquirer "news" , or similar.

Then maybe you'll find out some guy from Mars is in town negotiating a deal with PACB.

blezardunh...The more you post the denser you sound. You should alter your alias a little to......blezardunce. DUHHHHHHHHHHH.

So what you are saying is.....That RUMORS should be taken seriously as NEWS ?

Because there is a possibility the LEAK was started by an insider ? DUHHHHHHHHHHH.

Try and concentrate, just a little. Rumor mongers KNOW that there is a LOT of discussion on these message boards of a buyout, so a buyout RUMOR would IGNITE the stock.....INSTANTLY, nobody would question the validity of the RUMOR...........initially, at least long to allow the RUMOR mongers to grab a ton of money off the table from the SUCKERS that fell for the RUMOR.

You sit there and post about the stock being manipulated with 100 share trades, when right before your eyes the BIGGEST , EASIEST MANIPULATION was pulled off............and you want to keep your blinders on and look someplace else ?

Then you give the writers of the Reuters credibility by posting , gee those same two writers also wrote an article about another buyout before it actually happened. That is the CON dummy, they gain some respectability and credibility BEFORE they move in for the kill on some other stock they know can explode......with the timing of the right RUMOR.

If the other deal was actually REALLY in progress, it is NOT the same as where there is NO actual deal in progress......just some, talk, discussion by shareholders on a message board.

So before you start throwing the DUHHHHHHHHHs around, go take a look in the mirror.

It's people exactly like you that the rumor starters prey upon.

You should sign up for Rumors by Reuters, they'll probably give you a discount as long as you keep pounding the table for them.

So did you know about the first buyout rumor in the last month ? I did.

So was it "news" worthy of repeating the rumor again as "news" ......when the stock drifted back down below $10 ?

So what you are saying is that was NOT "news" manipulation ?

I hope you not so naïve to not recognize that somebody made a whole lot of money in a matter of minutes with that rehashed rumor news.

Like I indicated, there were a lot of people ripe for the picking awaiting such news.

  • epix_gets_fda_approval epix_gets_fda_approval Feb 5, 2016 6:41 PM Flag

I'm not sure what you are talking about ......"Just like any rumor you should have done DD to see if it makes sense "

If you are talking about what I said about Cambridge Heart....I already had the stock, and the news from Reuters wasn't as rumor, but reported as fact.........and there was no such news at all. And the "news" originated from Bangladesh.

What you do not understand is, that rumors are started because of what the buzz is ongoing about a stock, so the rumor monger knows that their rumor will automatically, and quickly be accepted as fact. Example: If there happens to be a lot of talk about a company buyout, all that is needed for the SPARK to ignite the stock.......is a well timed rumor. I mean I see much talk about stock manipulation, BUT, the best and easiest manipulation of ALL, is the RUMOR, and nobody seems to catch on that they have JUST BEEN manipulated.....Right ?

Two times in less than a month the stock exploded........WHY ?

Rumor ! Because the rumor maker knew exactly what the results were going to be once reality sets in, they made money on both sides of the trade.

The stock drifted down from the FIRST rumor, the rumor makers pile in at sub $10, the stock instantly skyrockets after their stooge Reuters releases their "news", they sell instantly, then because they know reality will set in that the rumor is bogus, they immediately short the stock and profit AGAIN on the way right back down.

And very coincidental timing.......the day before a not so spectacular earnings release .

    Gee what a coincidence.

P.S. Did you happen to notice how long the stock stayed UP, after the trading halt was over, and trading resumed ? The scammers couldn't get out of the stock fast enough.
Experience is supposed to be the best teacher, but some people just never learn, open your eyes and pay a little closer attention. If you burn your hand in a campfire, do you have to put your hand back in there every day to remind you that
    hurts ?

This wasn't a news leak, it was a rumor plant. It named the two reporters from Reuters that wrote the piece, if I had a stake in this stock I would be going to them with some questions.

Years ago I had a stock Cambridge Heart (CAMH) , the same exact thing happened with that one, Reuters reported that Cambridge got FDA approval, not true, but the stock went up crazy, then fell like a rock, and guess what happened to the Reuters news release? It vaporized, disappeared. After that I started paying attention to them once in awhile, and caught another article about another stock, I had no interest in that one, but their "news" was exactly the opposite of what was happening with the company. I don't know whether it's their young inexperienced reporters , or just plain fraud. But I take their news with a grain of salt. I think two Reuters reporters were listed for this most recent PACB rumor. To be honest with yourself, should an outfit the size of Reuters be publishing rumors ? Especially when that rumor had already made the rounds a few weeks prior? Where is their credibility ? Sometimes you'll see "news" coming from unnamed sources in Bangladesh ?

  • And they worked like a charm both times. One thing you have to pay attention to is when "news" comes from Reuters, slow down and think about it.

That "rumor" news by Reuters was simply a rehash of the prior buyout rumor a couple of weeks before.

Reuters makes many questionable news releases. Think about it, they released "news" from some "unnamed source" that Roche was contacting PACB in buyout talks ?

So in other words any Joe Blow off the street can walk into Reuters and give them this kind of "news" and they will put it out there from "unnamed sources" ?

    Rumors from Reuters ?

Haha.... Hey it worked......twice. Hash and rehash.

I did not say anybody has to accept anything. I'm saying technically the whole market is lousy, and right now PACB is joining the crowd. Roche does not have to get jumpy in this situation, that's all. Now they can sit back and wait to see for sure if demand really takes off, the market is giving them that luxury. That's why they hooked up with PACB to begin with, so they can clearly see from the inside. They don't want to get in any more deals where there is a possibility of it fizzling out, and they have to write it off.

I know I know, in your eyes PACB has it all, but that is going to take some time to see positively, and the lousy market is giving Roche that time. This really isn't that hard to figure out.

  • epix_gets_fda_approval epix_gets_fda_approval Feb 5, 2016 12:20 PM Flag

Roche does not need PACB today or tomorrow, next week, or next month, they will wait for this lousy stock market to bring the price down to them. You speak of the 2nd half, in stock market terms that is the other side of the moon the way things are currently going. After yesterday's debacle wouldn't you at least expect a dead cat bounce ?

Today's action technically indicates the stock is going lower, and my bet is at least to the 200 DMA. We'll just have to wait awhile to see if I'm right or wrong. I'm not talking today, but not that far away. You have to look at the chart once in awhile. Right now not a pretty picture.

  • epix_gets_fda_approval epix_gets_fda_approval Feb 5, 2016 11:46 AM Flag

Nobody has to offer a "fair deal" in a lousy market, that's common sense business.

  • epix_gets_fda_approval by epix_gets_fda_approval Feb 5, 2016 11:19 AM Flag

Currently at $7.23. Roche did not get to be Roche by being a bunch of dummies. The market is on their side in this deal. In this very risky market right now all they have to do is wait it out. When everything is falling apart investors will be more than happy to have Roche bail them out. These are the sad facts, they are in the driver's seat in this deal, that is if there is any deal. This lousy market is giving them the comfort of not having to rush into anything, especially since it is a wait and see how business pans out here.

Applies here. If and when VHC has their "settlement" in their bank.....then you can celebrate.

Celebrating in advance here can leave you with a BIG hangover.

Companies like AAPL do not pay their Armies of lawyers to sit around on their haunches.

  • Obama Orders Regulators to Root Out ‘Patent Trolls’

    By EDWARD WYATTJUNE 4, 2013

WASHINGTON — One company threatened to sue 8,000 coffee shops, hotels and retailers for patent infringement because they had set up Wi-Fi networks for their customers. Another claimed that hundreds of small businesses were violating its patents by attaching a document scanner to an office computer system. One claimed rights to royalties from anyone producing a podcast.

Now the Obama administration is cracking down on what many call patent trolls, shell companies that exist merely for the purpose of asserting that they should be paid because they hold patents that are being infringed by some software or electronic process.

The problem these little patent holding companies have is they aren't run by Muslims.

  • epix_gets_fda_approval by epix_gets_fda_approval Feb 4, 2016 12:21 AM Flag

I have no position one way or the other. But just now checking ahead of initiating one found this in today's Press Release. In November 2012 VHC won a 368.2 Million settlement against AAPL, BUT, the U.S. Court Of Appeals For The Federal Court Of Appeals, the nation's top patent court in Washington D.C. partially over turned that verdict.

Then in May 2010 VHC won a 200 Million settlement from MSFT , it doesn't say if that was over turned, but if not, what do they do with these huge wins ? How come this stock was not higher than it has been ?

I myself got burned in a situation exactly like this a few times, the last one a couple of years ago it was a tiny little company (can't remember name right now) but they were suing Google for using their patented adcom technology, and it was very obvious Google was infringing, BUT it was brought to public attention that the CEO of Google golfed with Obama, who is against these patent lawsuits , and the company whose stock I had got screwed against Google. I'm going to look through my tax records to see the name of that company.

When a little company wins against these giant companies , the giants will appeal them right into the ground. They want to drag it out for as long as possible with the thought of bankrupting the little suing company in the process. While this Google lawsuit was going on, Obama was actually giving speeches blasting these little companies calling them trolls. Doing his Google CEO golfing buddy a favor. Do a search on it you should be able to find that......ironically on Google.

I knew what you "intended" ?

Hey duffer when someone asks you for a "link" to a news article how do you interpret that as asking for the "ticker" of the stock ?

You're claiming that everybody here is supposed to know what the hell you "intended" ?

The more you say the dumber you sound, "intended" or not.

Now you say that NOBODY asked for a "link" for your fairy tale story ?

Haha....once again Stevie Wonder can see them...........but you......can not ?

Question: Can you at least see ALL the negative thumbs you got on that BS post ?

You were hoping "This Will Move the PPS ".

That was what you really "intended".

The stock trades every single day.......some unsuspecting newbie could have fallen for your vomit.

Hey duckduffer I can see your reading capabilities are as astute as your story telling .

Show me where I said someone was asking for a "ticker" for "Big Pharma" ?

Read what I said again, take your time, read it as many times as necessary, even move your lips while reading , if need be.

And if I'm the only one that didn't get the gist of your fable............Stevie Wonder can see better than you.........how many Tumbs Down for your garbage post.

Okay duckduffer......once again, where did I say posters were asking for the "ticker" of Big Pharma " ?

    I'm waiting.
