Should LUV look at buying HA?
It can be bought for little to nothing - for LUV - and operated as a wholly owned subsidiary. It would give LUV a foothold across the Pacific that it could develop at its own pace until it could be folded into LUV proper after the integration of AirTran is complete.
The 717-200"s might be able to be placed with Delta. More opportunity for 737-800 flying would mean LUV could order more -800's. Surely a home could be found for the Airbus and the 767's.
Just throwing this out as I have been advocating a merger with ALK for sometime. But this could be made into a viable alternative for flights to Hawaii and onto the Pacific rim countries.
