Too much negative publicity and bad news lately. This equity is getting beat up. Gates selling, rail road deals pending, Heinz/Kraft rumors of merger maybe getting overturned, etc. Warren himself telling everybody its too expensive and he wouldn't buy here - nothing at all positive basically...
I went backward pretty bad this month. Pretty. bad.
I just read an article that Uncle lost 1 billion today alone! Would have been another 55 million if he didn't sell XOM... But seriously, who cares about daily fluctuation? Not this guy
Just sell and invest in the index then. No one is forcing you to buy and hold like the rest of us and 7% over four months is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I don't make any commission trying to talk your out of selling your position. Then I can get back to trying to find value added posts and not reading whinny little comments.
Thats Awesome! Its conversations like these that make all the mental anxieties of investing worth it! No doubt, I believe you give everything to your kids till they can fend for themselves and all they owe you in return is love and respect in the end. B shares will allow you to take some off the table if you wish.
I plan on holding my share (hopefully shares plural someday) until the day I die. My son can sell it if he wants to and needs the money.
I finally purchased it today at 5.20 (1,000 shares). I might double down if it drops more :) My only speculative play after cashing out of ICPT with a decent gain.
No one was injured and no property was damaged. Driver going too fast. This is a non-story. What a waste of my time looking into that...
Don't take this the wrong way but you should just sell. You will end up panicking and selling for a lot less than it is valued at right now.
Wow - 23 years ago it was trading at around $9,000/share. Therefore, you have amassed over $200K per share. Congratulations! You probably have so much money you can sit around retired ripping people on MB's all day long.
I have to say I like the business moves/acquisitions - Car dealers, paint companies, etc. However, I am really disappointed with the subsequent valuation. This equity never really seems to join the big parties. I hope they hit earnings and receive a vote of confidence.
The purpose of the post was to point out the fact that ICPT has major swings in each direction but at the end of the day it is actually down 20% vs the index over the past year. By definition anything over a year is considered long-term.
the same as the S&P over the course of a 6 month period. Over a one year period it is down 20%. The only way anyone made money recently was actively trading. Otherwise, you were just decreasing your unrealized losses...When it hit 290's you know you should have sold. Thats how the game is played with this sht stock.
If official, It was a one day of normal trading and has almost erased the modest loss from yesterday. Glad I was able to buy for the brief second it was down 2%
Sentiment: Strong Buy
