I do have shares from the spinoff today. I can't believe it dropped $3.00 the first day, to just $21.00. A couple weeks ago said it was valued at $30.00. How meaningless.
"Arch Coal Inc. is under mounting pressure to get a grip on its dwindling cash.
The miner is saddled with $5.1 billion of debt and has failed to clinch a deal with creditors to swap existing bonds for new securities with longer maturities, which would help the company cut its obligations and ride out a commodities slump.
Now Arch is three weeks away from an $18.1 million interest payment on some of the bonds it wants to make disappear. With the company’s senior lenders not wanting to see that cash used up, they’re likely to pressure the company to skip the payment, according to Spencer Cutter, a credit analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence. That would start the clock on a 30-day grace period that would force the two sides to either reach a compromise or head to bankruptcy court."
ACI has been extending the deadline multiple times, for months now, so if this is such a perfect solution, why has it dragged for so long? Something is fishy.
"Analysts at Benchmark cut their rating to sell from hold following GameStop's quarterly earnings report."
That had nothing new to say that bashers hadn't said 8-18 months ago when this was down at 35. Pure manipulation, to let them cover their short. Why is this naked market manipulation allowed?!
With the crazy high volume, Soros could have sold out of his entire 500k+ shares today easily, and likely more than doubled his money. He's laughing all the way to the bank.
Today is last day to buy before going Ex-Dividend for the August divd (one of the last two divd's it will pay). Can expect min 10 cent drop tomorrow, since that's the dividend that will be lost.
You should also note that Cramer said to unload this since last October (2014). And has said sell every time it is brought up since.
I suggest you learn your history. The number you may claim Christians killed during the crusades isn't a tiny fraction of the 10's of millions killed by Muslims, the Armenian massacre of just 100 years ago is 100 times more than anything in all the crusades. And Musl1ms, including Mohammed himself, killed across Arabia, Asia Minor, Africa, the Balkans and Spain to "spread their religion". Get real.
Though I disagree about the viability of solar energy by today's technology, you can store (electrical) energy. It is called a battery, how do you think you start your car every day? Run your laptop, iPad, or cell phone? Plus there are other energy storage means (including capacitors, flow batteries, pumped hydro storage--all of which are in use today).
Problem with solar generated power is the very low efficiency and the high cost of materials (and negative environmental impact of processing those materials), as well as the limited places having sufficient cloudless sunlight to generate. And the point of disposal of used batteries is another issue, as pointed out above.

Big crash started the day after Thanksgiving (28 Nov), so we are hitting the beginning of those 30 day windows since the big drop. Will be interesting the next week or sp.
Why did HBAN collapse in the last 10 minutes of trading today (Friday, 19 Dec), after being up/even all day?! There is no posted news. Who is manipulating this?!
Only in your wildest imagination. Will never reach that even if there were a limitless supply of rare earth element metals required to make solar cells.
Ahr, must agree with long_duck, your analysis makes no sense. Just look at the TTM PE's of all three and that alone shows RAD is overpriced compared to WAG/CVS, plus they both pay a dividnend that RAD can't. I do own RAD.
This "stock" has been worthless and meaningless for years, why hasn't it been fully removed from trading in any venue? I lost 100% of money years ago, it is a continuing anoyance to see it listed on my brokerage statement, it just won't go away.
Cramer said to dump tanker/shipping stocks, INCLUDING NAT specifically like 9 months ago. IF you are still in it, it is by your own choice, so stop blaming others.
Dividend Declaration Date: May-01-2012
Dividend Ex Date: May-30-2012
Dividend Record Date: Jun-01-2012
Dividend Pay Date: Jun-15-2012
Dividend Amount Current: $ 0.0300
Dividend Amount Previous: $ 0.1100
That's a 72% DROP in dividend, no wonder it is getting chopped. That's now down to a 1.5% yield at current $8.10 (new 52 week low today).
I'm guessing it will continue to drop until the perceived yield is above at least 2.5% again (that would be $4.80!!!).
Just how stupid can one be?!
How could the management give (and Board approve) such a ridiculous breakup penalty offer to T-Mobile?! Any fool could have seen that this administration would do all in its power to stop any consolidation in the wireless industry for sake of “competition”—the actual consumer be damned. There had to be less than a 10% chance of it ever going through. Why didn’t this management and Board see that? Why did they ever offer/agree to such a ludicrous payment?!
There has to be more to this, hard not to be a conspiracy theorist. Somehow this Management and Board has profited by this utter failure under the table. They all must be laughing their heads off at the stockholders for being fools.
Only reason for Paul or others to run a third party is to assure that Obama gets re-elected. Are they that self-serving and big ego'd that they care absolutely nothing for the country?! Unfortunately, probably so.
