    katie couric salary....

Unfortunately Katie would only be worth about 600K per annum. She is a pleasant enough middle aged light weight host but has no real appeal like John Stewart or many others. I do not come to Yahoo for the kind of insights she can supply let alone an occasional interesting interview. 7 million seems a bit much to pay her.MM needs to build some value here just so the company will be as marketable as it should be with or without BABA. I really don't think it will be bought even though the potential ROI and tax savings are enormous for BABA. Why would they not already have pulled the trigger. Probably could get it for 55 tops .Maybe as low as 48-50 with a nice premium of 33+ %

as opposed to the gems of wisdom like this post right ? Look here is some wisdom for you. Buy this dip Friday afternoon. Greed should start to work against fear soon.

Not without some pain but no pain no gain here. I am in it for the gain. Still up a little.

    Sentiment: Hold

  • I wish I would have held but a trend bend is not a good thing. I like the fundamentals but this whole thing is technicals now for me. Darn it. When to get back in ? That is a rhetorical question only . I will figure it out. I should have got out at the first breach of the technicals but such is life sometimes. I like it that Marvin who I used to accuse of being to reactive is now counseling me. And he may be correct in buying today. I do not know. I have to wait and have a clear look after the wounded have been evacuated. I slipped out with nothing vital hit but still it does hurt some. I exited WRES at the correct time but tried to ignore the signs here and ouch . Yet a profit allows for further fights. I am looking for buys today but see none. I really do not see a deep correction but I may have lost my ken somewhere.

    Sentiment: Hold

I do not pump. I state facts as I see them but as a trend follower I have a few rules that I must follow. I will look for a re-entry at an advantaged price with better market timing.

Your thesis is similar to mine. I took profits heavily today and in the past few days. I really don't care much about Argentina but the Russian situation is troubling as the impact of sanctions is unknown to the West. I will be looking for bottom signals as this is a way to get some wonderful short term acceleration. I am surprised that oil came down. I do not see why but I learned a long time ago the market can do some strange and interesting things. Stay cool get some dry powder and be alert. Good luck to all. I also covered one short today ( YHOO. ) Made some nice money but ultimately it is a buy.

    Sentiment: Hold

  • I sold oil stocks today. No reason to stay long on oil. Financials below book with buybacks and ascending earnings is where I am going now. Good day to take profits but a good day to make a buy list. AIG is an old option position but I bought shares today and I may exercise 30 contracts at 35 soon.

    who ever said that ?

  • Protected some profits. Blew through my mental stop. So I may have over reacted. As a strong bull here I thought it would be intellectually dishonest not to disclose this. Too many factors to fight besides TPLM but I maintain a trading rule about retracement. This and the Russian situation which I do not understand has me selling some other issues as well. I will be back here but I am out as of today. Ugly.

I do not think we can stand 115+ a bbl without a hit to the the economy as you suggest. I have been selling some shares on many stocks. Not here but I sold WRES as it crossed over my stop. Nice gain of 32% but not a big position. The market did not respond as well as I believe it should have today after the FED announcement. The futures are down now a bit and earnings have been good with a revised first qtr. GGDP and a pleasant surprise in the second. A good jobs report Friday and no market move would not be a good sign imo.

I like to use calls to hit the rips after a dip. I usually do ITM ot ATM though rather than OTM. You are right about the limited risk though. I also like selling puts after a dip if I am looking to add to a position.

We have strong indication that the short term climate has improved as a result of the Fed and a nice bounce in the second quarter GDP growth to 4%. Demand as I have been saying for sometime is still growing . The short term crisis premium has already let some upward pressure off oil but world economic growth is likely to keep the oil prices above 100 as that does in fact seem to be the floor in a slow to moderate growth economy. The elephant in the room is how much could the US economy and equity markets stand as an increase today. The short answer is none at this time and Yellen does get it. That is why there really can not be much action until the 3rd qt.r of next year so long as inflation rates are not breached. The Bull Market while experiencing a little choppiness is still intact the S&P 500 earnings are still intact at over 6% growth so far this earnings season. Last season it got as low as 1% gain which had many saying the 4th Stage Bull w a m ready to slip bearish. Dr. Bart De Liddio recently gave a 30 minute presentation why that is not the case and the focus is on earnings growth as the key pillar of the Bull market. So it continues and I expect the baby oils even with high debt, high decline rates and high growth to prosper with respect to their valuations. Stocks like this one which is selling at a discount to the S&P of roughly 30 % should do better than all the stocks that are selling above 20 x PE Forward basis ). We just received a buy signal on the S&P today. ( My assessment ) Good luck and go long .

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • The sales revenue is no doubt going up faster than the short thesis can hold the price down.42 soon.

  • stronger prospects for leaders in retail segnents and DSW is a leader. Down grades are BS. Goldman Sachs upgrade with a target price of 35 is correct imo. You snooze. You lose.

  • fabricone1 fabricone1 Jul 30, 2014 9:50 AM Flag

funny. I am concerned though as the manipulation was based on store traffic. I really have not seen that in the DSW stores that I shop but I have not seen the weather problems here in LA. I do understand that the first quarter was weather challenged for them but CC comments were positive about their stores that were not in the cold weather areas. The second quarter had better weather though and I expect the numbers to beat the new forecasts of this downgrade. Goldman Sachs upgraded and called for a $35 target. I am withh them on this one. Howard and Tommy are both yesterday.

Way too cheap for a company that is buying back shares at the scheduled rate. Maybe a nice increase in the dividend would help. Is Whitney Tilson sold all his position yet ?

Bad spelling and corrupt thinking with regard to Hamas and the PLO is more than a theory . It is a law. You prove your ignorance with your multi- ID postings here everyday. Stop trying to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and maybe things will get better for the entire Middle East. When does your hate end ? Short answer it never will. Relax have a nice blond roast. Maybe you should be drinking decaf.
