I agree that they would benefit from a good operator running things. Who might buy PBY? It seems that Sears might spin off their auto centers - potential buyer?
If your shares are with your broker then they will automatically get converted to cash after the deal closes and the cash will end up in your account. If you hold stock certificates, you can deposit them at your broker now and let them take care of it - or after the deal closes send the certificates to the transfer agent with some paperwork and they'll send you the cash.
Well, it didn't close before the annual shareholder's meeting (I state the obvious). All the regulatory approvals have been received. That leaves the financing - any updates on this? Of course they may be ready to go, and are just waiting since MD is saving about $1 million in interest expense for every day the closing is delayed.
Dell has stated they anticipate the deal closing in October. Can it close prior to the shareholder's meeting on October 17? Or is there some reason they have to wait till after that meeting? Do they have all their financing lined up?
There's an upcoming 13 cent dividend to be paid (in addition to the regular 8 cent quarterly dividend, which is a qualified dividend, provided the stock was held at least 60 days). Does anyone know if the 13 cent dividend will also be classified as a "qualified" dividend (which means it's taxed at a lower federal income tax rate than an ordinary dividend)? Thanks.
Intermec announced today that the deal should be completed by Sept. 17. Most deals don't drag on this long. For those who have waited till the end, what are you going to reinvest the proceeds in?
Ten weeks have passed and not a word out of either side. It seems like the lawyers took the summer off. Has anyone heard anything?
did you end up buying? it hit your price
Yes, I bought at $11.00/share near yesterday's close. As long as the quarter isn't a disaster, I suspect we'll be back to $12+ fairly soon.
I didn't think it would happen so soon, but It made it that low ($11/sh). I picked some up at 11.00 at the end of the day. Now let's hope we see 12-13 before we see 10.
The vote is September 12. Would MD move the date again? Why, I think that he would if it were to his benefit.
Not sure what CI's next move is, but I'm expecting to hear from him again before this is all over.
Any predictions on Carl's next move? Does he fold and take the dividends and $13.75, make a nice (but small percentagewise) profit and move on? Or does he have another move or two to play on this deal?
The "special committee" is negotiating to move the shareholder vote yet again, in exchange for a special dividend. Gee thanks. Every day that goes buy, cash continues to pile up in DELL's coffers at the rate of 10 to 20 cents per month - that money belongs to ALL shareholders not just MD. So how generous, that they'll give us an extra 13 cents or so (of our OWN) money to rig the vote in MD's favor. What a sham.
