He foresaw that the company was wildly overvalued, but he didn't dump shares like a madman.....as others have. Let's take Gateway Computer for example. During the heady days of the dot.bomb boom, the CEO and largest shareholder of Gateway knew that PC's were becoming commoditized and his company was over-valued. But they all were....Dell and HP were also in the stratosphere. Having his hands tied by being CEO and a board member with lock-up windows and such, he resigned completely from the company, severing ALL ties. The following day he became a private investor, free to trade in whatever manner he wished....funny how that works. So I'm watching CNBC or FNN or whatever it was at the time, and I see Gateway being crushed for absolutely no reason.....analysts are calling it a bargain relative to it's peers and are stumped as to the weakness. That was the CEO selling shares like a MADMAN and really leaning on the share price.....when he backed off, buyers moved in and stabilized the thing, but that was "strange" period of trading sessions. Nick is OK.....he's losing far more money everyday than you are.

    The nation's Zoos....

I agree with you to an extent, you can dislike Sea World if you feel that the animals are being mistreated....and I can disagree with you. But you need to acknowledge that there are SO MANY ZOOS in this country. There are Zoos in places you wouldn't expect there to be Zoos....Grand Rapids MI has a zoo, Fort Collins CO has a zoo. Remember that awful movie with Matt Damon entitled "We BOUGHT a Zoo" There are 350 zoos in the US, 142 of which are accredited. How many Sea World's are there? There are 3 Sea World locations..THREE. US Zoos house (or keep alive for display) 750,000 animals...every morning, Zoos around the country "find" hundreds of animals dead every morning and they don't give-a-hoot about cause of death...in half the cases it's NEGLECT. And then there is little, puny, yet-high-profile Sea World and there sits PETA garnering those headlines AND donations. The intelligent aren't being fooled.

The only thing I do is deliver a simple message.....Nutbag Liberals and PETA freaks, please leave Sea World alone. Thank you. Oh, and by the way, 43 horses were burned-to-death in a fire at a horse racing training facility in Ontario Canada. Fire crews were hampered in their efforts because it 15 degrees below zero. Those horses died for the sport of horse racing and PETA doesn't give a hoot, but they'll stand in front of Sea World with signs ruining everyone's day....good job.

It's insane the number of zoo's operating in this country, housing over a hundred thousand animals.....and PETA picks on Sea World and their assortment of a couple hundred marine mammals. Why don't you head over to the Green Bay Zoo and see if the Llamas they have up there are enjoying the sub-zero weather?

He found me......underneath my desk, in a fetal position, thumb in my mouth, crying like a baby and then to put an exclamation point on the whole thing......I soiled myself. I will never eat Chinese food again.

  • The trainers will work in shifts, just chilling with Sea World's Killer Whale Pod. Talking with audience, and paling around with their Whale Buddies and sharing with the crowd. Should be fun.

Not every business has a CEO that has committed himself to skunking one city to benefit another. Iger has pledged his support to move the San Diego Chargers to Los Angeles. I always kind of hated him and this really puts the icing on that cake.

And Tillicum and his progeny will be shipped off to Europe,South America or if they're lucky...Japan. Thanks PETA, you won by disrupting and hurting the mammals that you intended to help. You're Loco in the Cabeza....

So get on it already, What's the hold-up?

  • I have heard anecdotal stories of zoo maintenance personnel who have to get insanely rough with certain species to get their enclosures cleaned and maintained. Specifically the elephants are totally stubborn and the maintenance crew has to beat the peanuts out of them, to clear out the tons of poop. And yet, they legislate Sea World. Real good, let's bomb and invade Iraq because some small time terrorist group pulls off 9/11. Our government officials have an uncanny capacity to shoot at the wrong targets.

They are legislating the whales away, but there's plenty of "action" at the Del Mar Race Track. Horses are whipped and raced to death every day of the meet. But it's tradition....let's boot up some Bing Crosby and sing about all the dead horses.....

Parents innocently buy some Nachos from one of the food stands at Disneyland. The next thing you know, their 3 year old is screaming and crying, her upper lip is being burned off her face. Turns out the teenage food vending worker heated the nacho cheese in a microwave and when it became as hot as the center of the sun, served it to the family. This girl had to undergo reconstructive surgery on her face, and Disney, well they just said tough luck on those plastic surgery bills. After the family sued, they settled it quick enough. Family Friendly? That's very funny.
