The guy has basically failed the sell the story in the last 2 year and doesn't seem to get that point.
I don't know about smart money but in the past everytime these big jumps happened swing traders existed in masses as soon as the up trend stopped - and shorts attacked. We'll see this time. People were saying afterhours wasn't encouraging (close 5.68 on big vol). I think a correction is healthy unless there's more news which I doubt knowing this company (LOL).
Shorts are probably loving lief. 74% drop. Dream come true for them.

Best of Breed product for an underserved global pandemic and institutions own less than 50% of the float. It's unheard of. And a clear non-endorsement of Jack Lief. Everybody including Mr. Lief himself is getting richer and richer except people who invested in Arena. Mr. Lief got 220,000 options for his performance in 2014 which was a loss of $558 Million or 43% of shareholder value! And loss of 75% since approval.
We love you Mr. Lief for what you've done to bring Belviq to market but you've been an utter failure managing Arena as a commercial company -- running HUMONGOUS LOSSES -- FAILING to attract significant level of institutional investments -- FAILING to sell or even tell the story -- putting people on key critical jobs they had no prior experience before Arena -- FAILING to put a senior person in charge of IR at the onset of launch -- FAILING to stand up against attacks on the company by turning the other cheek at times -- numerous mistakes -- and this list goes on and on.
Now please step aside immediately as CEO for the sake of Belviq, Arena, Eisai, investors, patients, and God. Your departure as "The Mr. Arena" which has become Arena's brand image has some serious non-supporters in places that matter and this has to change for everybody's sake. Even if Eisai's sales ramps up STILL Arena needs a new CEO to overhaul a failing company and steer this ship away from the mud its stuck in on your watch.

BELVIQ + ANTI DEPRESSANTS: PATIENT TESTIMONIALS
Just one discussion:
I take Prozac no problems
I take Celexa and B no problems
I no longer need my anxiety meds either. I never did well on any anti depressants, they caused more problems than they fixed.
I fine since I started B I don't need my depression or aniexty meds. I feel good all around.I no longer need my anxiety meds either. I never did well on any anti depressants, they caused more problems than they fixed.

JUST IN: 'Founders Syndrome' ... 'new management is the key'
Updated by John for publication:
The situation here is a typical case of the 'Founders Syndrome'. This happens when the company founders, who are typically outstanding in their field, and who do a good job getting a company going, don't step aside as the business grows beyond their ability to effectively manage. Arena needs professional managers, plain and simple.
This situation happens a lot in tech. Jack and Dominic can't possibly be happy with how the stock is doing and with the unhappy investors beating down their door, yet they can't do the things necessary to change the company and move forward. The right thing to do is bring in new management. Their large holders like Wellington, Deerfield, BlackRock, Vanguard, Sate Street, and Oppenheimer, assuming they are not working some strategy that involves the stock going lower before it goes higher, must know this and are hopefully pushing for the right thing to happen. This is nothing personal against Jack and Dominic, this is just how the world works.
The good news is that all of this is fixable, and that there are some huge opportunities still:
2.) smoking cessation
3.) other combo opportunities, like bel-met
4.) pipeline drugs
but new management is the key.
how many times has arena filed a reverse conversion complaint? probably Zilch. How many times this weak management turned the other cheek to sewer rats? I know they did so with CS at least. How many opp's has this nerd of a ceo blown in promoting arena? MANY. tute ownership below 50% for best of breed prod in pandemic
Have you written to the company? If so post a copy of your letter here so it can be included in the newceo site. If you need their contact info let me know.
