The golden haired child of the street, actually trails Cirrus in terms of percentage gain as of this moment in time on the day of their (fairly mediocre) report. Is the tide finally turning? This could be the start....fingers crossed. Congrats and thanks to Jason and the entire Cirrus team!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
looking, not even close; if you called me an amateur, you'd be giving me a promotion.
These comments are intended for entertainment purposes only.
But also remember there are over 1500 May 14 calls that will then come into play, so, expect a post earnings rug-pull and sideways trading until mid May. Then it's off to the races, JMO
For this option expiration looks to be around 34 (they can kill just over 1200 calls without bring any puts into the money). So my guess is they close it at 34 today then run it like crazy Monday and Tuesday.
Hey grade, you should get yourself a highly paid job at the Morgue; I understand those fat fingers are quite valued there...lol
Interesting price predictions by a very educated group which I will not even attempt to top. Let me simply remind all that Cirrus has a mind of it's own, and when it comes to price, tends to be more capricious than a beautiful woman.
Barclay's comments on semi sector in general quite negative....
"Sell in May and stay away" language....so while Cirrus specific comments were a positive, this amounts to a somewhat left-handed compliment given the sector backdrop, IMO. At least we are withstanding the sector storm this morning.
The wireless Beats headphones were one of the hottest gift items for Christmas, sold out everywhere. I really don't know what the Beats 2015-16 revs will be, but I would be shocked if less than 2B as the estimates we saw were stale 2013 numbers.
"A knowledgeable source tells Fast Company that Beats Electronics is on track to do roughly $1.4 billion in revenue this year, though that number could range as high as $1.5 billion." BTW, that is a 2013 reference. Beats holds greater than a 60% share in the $100+ headphone market. Back of the envelope calculations suggest a 150-200 million opportunity for Cirrus.
I know there has been some discussion lately regarding the Cirrus opportunity in the iWatch. Personally, I don't believe it's going to move the needle. Beats, however, is another matter. Widely criticized for sound quality, or lack thereof, I suspect Apple is looking to improve the Beats reputation. When you consider the Cirrus opportunity in headphones and speakers and compare that to the watch, I would think the Beats opportunity could be as much as 10x greater. Beats revenue also dwarfs iWatch. I encourage those interested to chime in.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Grade, Cirrus surprised me too. It flat-lined on a day I would have predicted a 10% move, either up or down with a 50% likelihood either way.
It seems to be morphing before our eyes.
Al, right on...
Thursdays close and the tone of the article point in that direction. Grade's points are well taken, but I think we have become too jaded after years of owning Cirrus, where bad news has been bad and good news has been bad so many times. That being said, here's hoping the table has been turned.
