I believe you also said buy between 7 - 8. I am holding off until we break 4 again. No buyer interest. Samsung spooked buyers.

P/S is half the next lowest competitor

Not sure what are you looking at? If you took the time to read the proxy you might see it.

"Mr. Kim’s immediate family and affiliates own directly 138,019,237 shares, or approximately 63%, of our outstanding common stock."

I think you might need their approval to do your "hostile takeover"

The Company is majority owned by the Kim family. Hostile takeover not possible. Company has a history of missing forecasts and therefore gets taken to the woodshed by investors each time. Very consistent at missing estimates, regardless of who is managing. From 1998 IPO thru today there is very little economic value added for shareholders despite all of the capital investment--they have been a survivor but not a strong performing business. Best thing to do with this company/stock is try to time the cyclical moves (long or short) which tend to be few and far between these days. Management seems to go along for the ride and doesn't hold much stock (outside the Kim family). Only other hope is that they one day sell the company.

    Stock Buy Back Program

Unfortunately different manager, same result. Can't seem to get the forecast right or it is extremely difficult. Seems as though there is always a bit of "if we build they will come" strategy here and then they get caught with excess capacity. Was hoping to buy on the dip but the last dip lasted four years and the improvement tends to be very short lived. What's your best estimate of the TEV of this Company?

Only about 17% of the stock is held by institutions. My guess is this was a lot of retail selling. This company is less than 1/1 levered and while dividend coverage is an issue due to the low rate environment, this company is not going away. I agree that fees are high and you may not approve of externally managed BDC's. Pick another one if you like. There have been a number of trading opportunities in this stock over the past several years. I would say that if the economy slows materially, the lower middle market assets could experience some losses which would drive down NAV and share price. However, at these prices there is a considerable cushion on NAV. A dividend cut may be in offing due to lower rates but again, not the end of the world. I would agree that the biggest issue to me is the misalignment of interest between management and stockholder and the excessive fees.

Short interest increasing in semis and could also be coupled with reaction to AMD concerns. These events present opportunities but have to be patient as the bottom is tough to call.

Unfortunately this is the cyclical track record of this company/stock. It creates buying opportunities for investors but you have to be very patient.
