unless you're into growth companies that are undervalued, pay a dividend. have a great buy back program and are a monster cash cow.
You know you have a troll problem when you create 2 posts on a barely active MB on a Sunday morning and they both get 3 thumbs down within minutes.
LOL ... You know what they say, "The truth hurts".
IN the last few months, several folks have posted asking about and or proclaiming Blackstone has been hit by sinking oil prices. Here is an excerpt form an article posted in February on marketrealist website:
Impact of low oil prices
Blackstone offloaded much of its oil-related exposure in 2013 and 2014. Overall, it has a diversified portfolio, and many of its holdings are oil-price agnostic. This has resulted in less erosion of its holdings’ valuations. According to management, less than a quarter of the company’s investments are exposed to oil prices.
Blackstone created its second energy fund in 2014. It’s double the size of the previous fund. The timing is quite strategic, as many energy sector companies are available at a discount compared to what they were worth before oil prices started to fall.
Blackstone is also planning to raise additional funds to augment its existing energy businesses at GSO Capital.

Rookies got sucked into a trade when the Price closed above the 20SMA.
Professional Traders know to use more than one indicator ~”
THUSLY, AND IN HIS OWN WORDS, HE WAS A ROOKIE THAT GOT SUCKED INTO A BX TRADE
WHAT DO YOU KNOW???
A quote from the conference call from an article posted on "the street" (and available via other sources online)
"So a very quick recap of the results. We reported ENI of $0.43 for the second quarter, that is in line with consensus. I know one of -- Reuters had reported it incorrectly earlier but have since corrected that. That is down from last year due to lower appreciation in the private equity and real estate funds, particularly the public's, which were down in line with markets. Though performance was actually still quite good overall across all of the businesses.
Distributable earnings were up quite a bit, 35% to $1 billion for the quarter or $0.88 per common unit. We will be paying a distribution of $0.74 to holders of record as of July 27, which brings us to $2.85 paid out over the last 12 months. And just based on where the stock is today, that equates to a compelling yield of 7% on the current price which is one of the highest of any large company anywhere in the world. "
The caveat is that the "consensus" was dropped significantly in the final weeks leading up to the ER. Funny how the analysts seem to figure this out last minute without any public releases by the firm. Earnings are panning out to be pretty flat for 2015 which is definitely something for investors to consider. I have found that BX earnings are very "lumpy" and unpredictable. It gives me angst but they continue to perform so I have stuck with this one with great long term results. It has been over a year since I have bought or sold any shares while holding a full, but not overweight, position.

If you were the Federal Government, and had all of the debt that they have ... why would you raise interest rates? ""
The fly in your ointment is BX PPS closing above the 20 sma today. If it closes above 35.67 tomorrow, it will have established a near term higher high AND already has established a near term higher low. What's his name said that was when you buy. Wonder what he's gonna do?
BX is an MLP. Per the partnership agreement, distributions are based on assets sold off and some from their cash flow business segments. Thusly, they did not "keep the dividend high", the size of the distribution (not dividend) was a result of the performance of the cash flow segments and the assets sold during the quarter. WRTPPS performance, if you check out a 3 month chart of BX and KKR you will see they are both down 16%. Did KKR lose key people? Did KKR prop up there distribution/dividend?
For the reasons I have explained above, the PJT spin off will not be in lieu of the next distribution. They are independent.
The reason TPT claims he has been "saying the same thing for weeks" is because he doesn't know what he is talking about.
You say liar, I say rookie sucker (purely based on his posts!) Only he knows the truth ... we'll never KNOW
PPS is up 21% YTD ... 2 distributions so far this year totaling $1.67 which is a 4% payout at today's PPS ... S&P is up 2% YTD
My thought: What are you talking about???
Held through 8 earnings reports and counting distributions those shares are up 105% in 26 months.
I may need to join gamblers anonymous.

The market will drop when there are THREE interest rate increases, not one ~ ""
I know I'm confused ... which thesis should we believe?
Are you being sarcastic or serious? Don't worry about value "given" to the ROBUST pipeline. These seeds will be grown into real revenue and profits and then we will realize the gains. GILD is a great long term play ... because of the pipeline.
The only question that remains is whether PT is a pro FUDster or a amateur?
I think I can safely say this is a valuable trading related post. Don't trust PT's trading advice! Ignore at your own discretion ...

Hey! you talkintome? Rookies think they can guess which way the market will take a stock after an earnings report. Professional traders wait until iearnings are announced, then they trade."
Clearly ... the same guy ... You are all welcome!
Walk up stairs and ask mommy what a job is. I am not a weak handed whiney panicky long, so it's all good. You're long too on your paper calls. Once you capitulate stan style PPS will be heading up.
